Snubie's US Market / Non-Red List Recommendations - 3 March 2025.

Snubie.com is a website that is pretty global.  I write and make videos for all sorts of markets.  However, I'm located in the US, and so is a lot of my audience.  I have an article here that covers nicotine pouch recommendations, and one for snus.  However, over the past year, the FDA has been "red listing" a lot of snus and nicotine pouch products.  Making them harder to get in the US.  If you're in the US, like me, you may be looking to branch out, or try other non-red listed products.  Well, you're in luck.  I'm making this new article that will be kept up to date with suggestions of non-red listed products for US consumers!  

First, let's start with traditional Swedish Snus. The brands that are currently red-listed are Göteborgs Rapé, Knox, Oden’s, Röda Lacket, Siberia, and Skruf. Taking those out, I'll give you a lift of my recommendations without those brands.  Some of those are my favorites, such as GR, Röda Lacket, Skruf, and even some Oden's products.  So it's unfortunate to see many of them go!  

Snus - Mint Flavors

There are a lot of these mint flavored products on the market.  I figured I'd help make it easier to pick them out and give you my favorites.

XRANGE Catch Mint Slim White - Peppermint
Nicotine Strength:  6.5mg/portion
My Notes:  I like that this one isn't overly sweet.  It's a very well balanced peppermint taste.

Nick & Johnny Green Ice
Nicotine Strength:  11.2mg/portion
My Notes:  This is one of my favorite spearmint products, it's very tasty.

Kapten Mint X-Stark Vit
Nicotine Strength:  13.5mg/portion
My Notes:  This one has a nice peppermint flavor that isn't too overpowering or too sweet.

Snus - Traditional Flavors

The traditional taste of Swedish Snus!  Traditional, what is that?  Well, it's the taste of bergamot, a slightly tart taste of citrus.

ONE White Portion
Nicotine Strength:  14mg/portion
My Notes:  The FDA red-listed General on March 11th, but you can still get the same taste with ONE White Portion (Vit)!

XRANGE General Slim White
Nicotine Strength:  7mg/portion
My Notes:  Another way you can enjoy the General flavor is in the XRANGE series!

LD Stark Original
Nicotine Strength:  12.6mg/portion
My Notes:  LD doesn't get enough love, but it's a good priced, traditional flavored snus!

Snus - Licorice Flavors

When I first started using snus, I wasn't the biggest fan of black licorice.  Over time, I came to love it.  Here's my favorites!

Kapten Salmiak White 
Nicotine Strength:  17.46mg/portion
My Notes:  One reason I like this one is the plump portions.  They also have a nice, salty black licorice taste!

LD Salmiak Original
Nicotine Strength:  9mg/portion
My Notes:  This one is one of the best licorice products all around, with a rich tobacco base and a salty licorice taste.

Snus - Beverage-Inspired Flavors

This category is basically anything that is inspired by, or that reminds me of, a beverage or beverage flavor.

Islay Whisky Original
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/portion
My Notes:  There aren't a lot of whisky snus products out there but this is the best one, in my opinion.

La Morenita Rum Snus (White Portion)
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/portion
My Notes:  There aren't a lot of rum snus products out there, either.  But this is some tasty, tasty stuff.

Nick & Johnny Americana
Nicotine Strength:  16.5mg/portion
My Notes:  I didn't have another category for this one so I put it in here.  Why?  Because it tastes like Cherry Dr. Pepper.

Snus - Tobacco Flavors

If you're using a tobacco product, you want to taste tobacco, right?  Well, here's my favorites.

Grov Stark Portion
Nicotine Strength:  15mg/portion
My Notes:  Grov is a great snus, and one of my favorites.  It has a rich, dark tobacco taste and a hint of geranium.

Ettan White Portion
Nicotine Strength:  7.2mg/portion
My Notes:  I'm more partial to Grov, but I like this version of Ettan.  The original has too much chocolate taste, but I find this one to be more balanced.

The Lab 06 Extra Strong Slim
Nicotine Strength:  18mg/portion
My Notes:  This one is a more complex one, with a nice tobacco base and hints of wood and almond.  It's pretty tasty stuff!

Snus - Fruit Flavors

The taste of fruit is a popular one in the world of Swedish Snus.  Here's some of my favorites!

Kaliber+ Stark Original Portion
Nicotine Strength:  10mg/portion
My Notes:  This one is a little interesting, and complex.  It has a nice tobacco base, hints of citrus, but a presence of lingonberry.  That's why I put it in this berry flavor category.

Vårgårda Bär White Portion
Nicotine Strength:  10mg/portion
My Notes:  This is a more traditional berry taste.  It has a nice tobacco base, along with a dark berry presence.

Snus - Wintergreen Flavors

For me, wintergreen is a love hate snus.  Sometimes I want it, sometimes I don't.  Sadly, there aren't many made anymore, so there's really only one suggestion I have.

The Moose Major Wintergreen
Nicotine Strength:  11.2mg/portion
My Notes:  This is a new one, but rapidly becoming a favorite of mine.  It's an American type of wintergreen taste, and has some nice body to it!

General Wintergreen
Nicotine Strength:  8mg/portion
My Notes:  This is really the only other wintergreen flavor.  If you can't find a store that ships The Moose to the US, you'll have to buy General Wintergreen locally.

Snus - Herbal / Floral / Outdoorsy Flavors

This category is the outdoorsy type of snus.  Herbal, floral, you name it.  Here's some of my favorites! 

Tre Ankare White Large
Nicotine Strength:  7mg/portion
My Notes:  This one could almost fit in the tobacco category, but it has an herbal hint to it that makes it a little more deep.

Vårgårda Skog White Portion
Nicotine Strength:  10mg/portion
My Notes:  This one is a lot like Norrland, but almost with a mix of Göteborgs Rapé (and with both of them being red-listed, this is a good option).  It has an outdoorsy taste, along with some juniper.  It's an interesting one!

One Blue
Nicotine Strength:  13mg/portion
My Notes:  While we can no longer get Göteborgs Rapé in the US, One Blue has the exact same flavor, just not the name.  It's a neat way around the ban.

Snus - Lössnus / Loose Snus

These are a lot of different flavors, but there aren't a lot of loose snus products out there.  So, I wanted to give loose snus it's own category.  It deserves it.

Grov Lös / Loose
Nicotine Strength:  7.5mg/g
My Notes:  If you want a raw, natural, rich taste of tobacco, this is it.

Mustang Lös / Loose
Nicotine Strength:  10mg/g
My Notes:  Röda Lacket may be banned, but Mustang is somewhat similar.

SnusRoom Lös / Loose
Nicotine Strength:  11mg/g
My Notes:  There aren't a lot of loose products available to the US anymore, but with SnusRoom/SwedSnus, you can make your own, and add flavors!

Next, we come to nicotine pouches.  This category has a LOT of products on the red list. Ace, Klint, Lagom, Loop, Lyft, NOIS, Siberia, Skruf, Velo, White Fox, and XQS.  These hit harder, because I really like Ace, Loop, and Velo.  This recommendations list is a little harder to put together but I'll do my best to see what I can come up with.

Nicotine Pouches:  Tobacco-Inspired Flavors

The tobacco flavor is something lots of manufacturers have tried to copy, but no one has got it quite right yet.  However, these are my recommendations for people looking for that "type" of flavor.

White Fox Black (Local buy only)
Nicotine Strength:  22.5mg/pouch
My Notes:  I put this one in here because it is available in stores in the US, you just have to look for it.  It's red-listed, so you can't buy it online, but you can find it in stores in the US.

Grizzly Original (Local buy only)
Nicotine Strength:  Many strengths available, I prefer 9mg
My Notes:  This is another good option for tobacco-inspired flavors.  It isn't too sweet and is pretty well balanced.

Velo Plus Smooth (Local buy only)
Nicotine Strength:  Many strengths available, I prefer 9mg
My Notes:  This is another good local buy, a sweeter tobacco inspired flavor.


I've also seen that Rogue has a tobacco flavor out there called "Rogue Tabac" (I saw it on Nicokick).  I haven't tried it, but it's an option.  It looks like Zone also has a tobacco flavor on Nicokick, but I haven't tried that one yet, either.

Nicotine Pouches:  Traditional Flavors

These are flavors for folks looking for more mature flavors, tastes that you can use all day long and not tire of.  Flavors that aren't too sweet, but more grounded.

BAOW Gin & Tonic
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  I liked the old Göteborgs Rapé Nicotine Pouches, but they were discontinued.  This new-ish BAOW pouch has a similar flavor of juniper.

My Notes:  If you like regular, traditional snus with bergamot flavors, this one will be quite pleasing to you.

My Notes:  This one has a nice tea base to it, with slight floral notes and hints of pepper.

Nicotine Pouches:  Citrus Flavors

These flavors are for folks who like the taste of citrus.  Lemon, lime, grapefruit, all that good stuff.

Puff & Pouch Mango Jalapeño
Nicotine Strength:  11.2mg/pouch
My Notes:  Since I can't get Loop Jalapeno Lime anymore, I've found this one to be a decent replacement.

BAOW Chili Lime
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  This is another replacement for Loop Jalapeno Lime, with a similar flavor.

Nicotine Strength:  It comes in 19.95mg/pouch (Crazy Strong) and 11.2mg/pouch (Strong Edition).
My Notes:  This is another good one with a lime flavor to it!

Paz Sunrise Citrus
Nicotine Strength:  10mg/pouch.
My Notes:  If you like citrus, you'll enjoy the orange/lemon flavor of this one.

Nicotine Pouches:  Beverage Flavors

The beverage flavor category is growing a lot and getting quite popular with nicotine pouches, so I felt like it deserved it's own category.

Chapo Cola
Nicotine Strength:  13.2mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one has a nice cola flavor!

Iceberg Energy
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  If you like Red Bull like I do, you'll dig this one!

Fumi Cola
Nicotine Strength:  8mg/pouch
My Notes:  The cola taste on this one is sweet, but slightly spicy!

Vid Cola Sour
Nicotine Strength:  9.6mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one hsa a nice taste of cola.  And the cola isn't super sweet, so that's nice.

Vid Coffee Caramel
Nicotine Strength:  9.6mg/pouch
My Notes:  If you like coffee, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Nicotine Pouches:  Fruit Flavors

Fruit flavors are quite abundant in nicotine pouches.  It was hard to narrow it down, but I did my best to pick a few that I felt like were the cream of the crop.

Poke Watermelon
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one has a pretty nice taste of watermelon, with a little sweetness and some menthol.

Poke Raspberry
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  Like the last one, this one has a menthol flavor to it, but also some raspberry notes.  It's not too bad!

Paz Blue Razz
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one is really unique, and has an enjoyable blue raspberry flavor!

Nicotine Pouches:  Tropical Flavors

This is one of my favorite categories.  I love the beach, and I love tropical flavors.  These are some tasty flavors I think you should check out!

Poke Tropical
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  There aren't a lot of tropical flavors in brands we can get to the US now, but I found this one recently and it's pretty good.

Fumi Caribbean
Nicotine Strength:  6.4mg/pouch
My Notes:  I forgot about this one, but remember it being pretty good and it looks like it's still sold.

Snowman Tropical Punch
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one has a nice citrusy, tropical type of flavor to it.

Nicotine Pouches:  Mint Flavors

It's no secret that mint flavors are quite popular.  There are billions of them.  Well, not billions, but there are a lot.  These are the ones I'd recommend trying out.

Vid Crispy Mint
Nicotine Strength:  9.6mg/pouch
My Notes:  Of all the mint flavors on this list, I'd say this is probably the better tasting mint nicotine pouches out of all of them.

Snowman Arctic Kick
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one has a pretty fresh peppermint/spearmint flavor to it.

Moose Polar Freeze
Nicotine Strength:  12.8mg/pouch
My Notes:  I like this one because it reminds me a lot of snus.  It has a nice mint taste, but also a full pouch.

Greatest XL
Nicotine Strength:  12mg/pouch
My Notes:  Since we can't get Lundgren's Rimfrost anymore, I suggest trying this one.  It also has a full sized pouch with a fresh mint taste.

Nicotine Pouches:  Licorice Flavors

I like the taste of black licorice a lot so I wanted to make sure this flavor got an inclusion in my list!

Ice Licorice Razz
Nicotine Strength:  10.8mg/pouch
My Notes:  This one has a nice raspberry/licorice flavor!

Nicotine Pouches:  Wintergreen

There aren't really any nicotine pouches with a wintergreen flavor that ship to the US.  Many you'll find in US stores, or online for sale in the US.

Nicotine Strength:  9mg/pouch (also available in 12 and 15mg)
My Notes:  This one is made by Cannadips, and has a killer wintergreen flavor!
