Helwit Nicotine Pouches - Review. 3 October 2021.

I don't review a lot of nicotine pouches here on Snubie.com anymore.  I kinda got burned out on reviewing them.  If you haven't noticed, they've taken over the market.  Recently, I've decided to get Snubie back to being more snus oriented.  However, that doesn't mean I won't review nicotine pouches anymore.  Now, I just mainly review the more interesting ones.  This one, Helwit, is a Swedish product by Yoik.  This one honestly interested me because of the design.  It's also one made by a company with a focus on sustainability.  Their website says, "The boxes (cans) containing our pouches are made of pine oil and the production is self-sufficient through a hydropower plant."

In the reviews, I'm going to cover what differentiates them, but first, let's talk about their commonalities.

Can Weight - 10 grams, 24 portions, 0.42 grams each.
Portion/Mouthfeel - The portions are certainly lighter in weight than your average portion.  They do feel a little lighter in the lip.  The portion material, though, is pretty soft, and quite comfortable under the lip.
Flavor Longevity - The flavor longevity on these is on par with other nicotine pouches on the market.  Usually the flavors seem to kick around for 40-50 minutes.

Now, let's get into the reviews and check these products out!

Helwit Mint

Flavor Description:  "HELWIT MINT has a soft mint taste that mixes fresh and sweet tones for a perfect combination. A favourite throughout the day."
Nicotine Strength:  2/4 Strength - 2.9mg/portion (6.9mg/g total nicotine)

Review:  This one has a sharp, present, clean aroma of peppermint.  Being a mint product, you get a nice cooling presence when you put one under the lip.  The flavor is sweeter in the flavor than in the aroma.  It's a present, clear taste of peppermint.  It's smooth, semi-sharp, and focused.  The nicotine is pretty light, and feels to be about a quarter the regular strength level.

Helwit Violet

Flavor Description:  "HELWIT VIOLET is a pioneering taste for all violet lovers. With a genuine violet taste and aromatic hints of a certain sweetness, we have created a taste we are particularly proud of."
Nicotine Strength:  2/4 Strength - 2.9mg/portion (6.9mg/g total nicotine)

Review:  This one has a pretty refreshing aroma.  It's a lightly sweet, floral smell of violet.  The flavor is pretty nice.  The violet flavor is lightly sweet, and refreshing.  The nicotine, like the last one, is pretty light, feeling about quarter regular strength.

Helwit Orange

Flavor Description:  "HELWIT ORANGE has a taste of fresh sun-ripened oranges, with a fresh coolness in the aftertaste. This creates a good whole and highlights the fresh orange. A taste that always goes home."
Nicotine Strength:  3/4 Strength - 3.8mg/pouch (9.04mg/g total nicotine)

Review:  This one has a pretty tart aroma of orange.  It's lightly sweet, and pretty natural smelling.  In the flavor, it's sweeter than I picked up in the aroma.  The orange is present, and tart.  It's not overly tart, but has just the right amount of citrusy zest.  The nicotine feels to be below regular, probably about half the regular mark.

Helwit Mocha

Flavor Description:  "HELWIT MOCHA combines the taste of freshly roasted mocha coffee and sweet caramel chocolate. A personal favourite that is perfect for morning coffee as well as after lunch or dinner."
Nicotine Strength:  3/4 Strength - 3.8mg/pouch (9.04mg/g total nicotine)

Review:  If you like coffee, you'll like this one.  It has a sweet aroma of coffee, along with light tones of caramel, and subtle tones of chocolate.  In the flavor, it's a lot like the aroma.  It's a sweet taste of coffee, with chocolatey tones.  It's semi-nutty, and has hints of caramel.  The nicotine strength is like the last one, feeling about half the regular strength.

Rating and Final Thoughts

The Helwit line was pretty solid.  I really liked the can designs, and their sustainability approach.  The strengths were lower than I prefer, but there's certainly a market for low-nicotine users.  The flavors lasted about as long as your usual nicotine pouch.  In terms of flavor, I enjoyed them in this order: Mocha, Violet, Orange, and then Mint.  But, taking into account differing nicotine strengths, this is how they rated:  Mocha (3.25/5), Orange and Violet (3.08/5), then Mint (2.83/5).  If you're a nicotine pouch user who is looking for something with a lower strength, check these out!
