A friend of mine in California recently gave me a couple of a flavorless" products sold there: Velo Smooth and the one we are talking about today, Grizzly Original. In case you didn't know, California has a ban on flavors. So, you can only buy "unflavored" products, or "tobacco flavored" products. This is one such flavor. What's interesting about this one is that it is nothing like the last round of Grizzly Nicotine Pouches I tried. It seems the Grizzly Nicotine Pouches line is changing to the Velo Plus quality, which is a good thing. The old Grizzly pouches were terrible and way too dry. For a flavor description for this one, I found on Prilla it says "A rich-tasting experience. Like Grizzly Dip, Grizzly Original imitates the same robust tobacco-like flavor, but without the tobacco". Like Velo Plus, each can weighs 10.6g and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.53g each. I noticed on Prilla these come in 6mg, 9mg, 12mg, and 15mg. These are the 9mg ones. The strength is 16.98mg/g in total, but 9mg/pouch. Now, let's see how these taste!
I like that these have the same catch lid as the EU Velo products. For those new to pouches, that's a little compartment on top of the can you can discard of your used pouches if you aren't near a trash bin. Opening up the can, the aroma I detect is mild, and subtle. It has some slightly roasted tones, with a mild nuttiness. Perhaps a gentle tone of caramel. The pouches are slim, semi-moist, and soft. Under they lip they have a comfortable feel against the gum. The flavor is pretty gentle. It does attempt to mimic certain aspects of tobacco. It's slightly nutty, and has gentle tones of caramel. It's earthy, and not overly sweet. Honestly, the flavor isn't too bad. In the nicotine strength, this one has a pretty mild delivery, and feels to deliver at the regular strength mark. The flavor lasts about 30-40 minutes on average, about standard for most nicotine pouches.

Rating and Final Thoughts
These were pretty impressive. I know some thing flavor bans are dull, but I like simple flavors, so for me I enjoyed this one. In the end, these rated at 3.63/5. For comparison purposes, the old Grizzly NP's (the mini dry ones) rated between 2.3 and 2.5/5. These are vastly improved over the original ones. I heard today that the Grizzly line is converting over to this format, and they've added a new flavor called Southern that apparently has a watermelon type of flavor. I'll keep an eye out for them and review these soon. But all in all, these aren't too bad. The US nicotine pouch market is definitely getting better!
