Today, we have something new to check out: Ammo Nicotine Pouches! These are made by the folks at Cannadips in California. They are quite proud of this, with their Ammo site saying "AMMO is proudly assembled in the good ol' USA. Not a lot of the competition can say that". This is their latest foray into the nicotine realm. In the past, I've tried a lot of their other products: CBD, HHCP, THC-P, etc. They worked on their first round of nicotine pouches, Coco, in 2023. Going into this, I told these were much improved over Coco, so I was quite curious to check them out. These also use coconut fiber, like with Coco, which they say "provides a smooth, consistent nicotine release and long lasting flavor delivery". So, let's get to know this product a little better!
Ammo: The Pouches
Opening up the can, you'll count 15 pouches. The can weighs 6 grams in total, which means each pouch weighs 0.4 grams each. The pouches are slim, moderately dry, moderately soft, with a nice fit under the lip. They feel dryer at first, but do soften up over time as they get more moist. This product line comes in 3 strengths: 9mg Standard, 12mg Strong, 15mg Magnum. Cannadips says this has their new "Extended Release Technology", which is described like so: "cutting edge technology that allows for an immediate release but also extends the artillery so your pouch can deliver what you need". This line is said to have both an enhanced, longer release of both nicotine and flavor! So, with all that being said, let's find out how they taste!
Flavor Description: "A bold blast of citrus combined with the power of nicotine".
The Review: Opening the can, the aroma that comes through is a tart, tangy smell of citrus. The flavor is very much the same. I'd say it hangs closer to lemon, in terms of which citrus it tastes like. It's not super sweet, and certainly has a tangy essence to it!
Ammo Mint
Flavor Description: "A balanced mix of sweet and cool mint sensations".
The Review: Opening up a can of this one, the aroma that comes through is pretty refreshing. The mint is close to a peppermint type of aroma. It's smooth, gentle, and lightly sweet. I get a refreshing sensation in the lip when I put one in, due to the mint flavor profile. In the taste, it's a pretty smooth mint taste. It's lightly sweet, and fresh. The mint isn't too bold, or biting, but still pretty refreshing.
Ammo Blue Razz
Flavor Description: "Loaded with an explosive blue razz flavor, AMMO gives you that sweet, tangy kick that lasts".
The Review: I've always liked their Blue Razz flavor, so I was looking forward to trying it in the Ammo series. In the aroma, the blue raspberry is present, and front and center. It's not overly sweet, either, but does have a subtle sweetness to it. I notice it in the flavor as well, it's not super sweet. It has a light sweetness to it, and almost a light tang. The blue raspberry flavor is present, and enjoyable!
Ammo Wintergreen
Flavor Description: "Loaded with explosive wintergreen flavor, AMMO keeps you locked and loaded all day".
The Review: I'm not one who uses a lot of wintergreen products, but one of the ones I regularly dip into is Cannadips Wintergreen CBD Pouches. They just get it right. In the aroma of this one, it has the familiar smell of wintergreen. It's lightly sweet, and present. The flavor is quite the same, and reminds me of their Wintergreen they use in their CBD products. The American Wintergreen taste comes through clearly, with a light touch of sweetness to it. It is a fresher take on wintergreen!
Some Final Notes
Before we wrap up, let's touch on nicotine strength and flavor longevity. We have three strengths to talk about. First, 9MG Standard has a nice delivery, it's more in line with what I like because it feels about the regular strength level. Then you have 12MG Strong, which has a little extra kick over the regular level. Then, the big boy, 15MG Magnum, which honestly has quite a strong kick to it. In terms of flavor longevity, these did impress me. Most nicotine pouches have about 30-40 minutes of flavor, but I was able to push these up to the hour mark, which you don't see very often with nicotine pouches.
Wrap-Up and Rating
I got ahold of a lot of these Ammo products, so you'll find my ratings below. Flavor-wise, I found Blue Razz to be the top notch, but also enjoyed Wintergreen and Citrus. Mint wasn't bad, but I don't use a lot of mint pouches, personally. In the nicotine strength, the lower ones were better to me, 9mg and 12mg. 15mg was a bit strong for me, but I don't usually use really strong stuff. All of these had an impressive can design, as well as a long lasting flavor. My only criticism I found was the pouch size. I wish they would push the 0.4g pouches up to at least 0.6g, because I think that would put these over the top in terms of what else is on the market. But all in, a solid product line!
