I reviewed Offroad Frosted White Dry a month or so ago and figured that V2 would be releasing more "White Dry" portions. The Frosted brand name is growing - in the past I've written about Offroad Frosted, Offroad Frosted White Dry, Thunder Frosted Christmas, Thunder Frosted Extra Strong Original Portion, Thunder Frosted Los, Thunder Frosted Long+, Thunder Frosted Mini+, Thunder Frosted Ultra Strong, and Thunder Frosted Ultra Strong White. There are definitely a lot of "Frosted" products in the V2 lineup.
The product description for Frosted Extra Strong White Dry says, "Thunder Frosted White Dry Extra Strong - strongly reduced moisture and therefore lower weight - but full flavor and hit! Only 18% moisture - resulting in a 27 mg/g nicotine content. "Frosted" is the most popular snus flavor there is!" I know that nicotine content may be intimidating, so let me break it down.
Nicotine - 27 mg/g
18 portions
11.7 gram can can weight
Each Portion - 0.65 gram
Nicotine Per Portion - 17.55 mg/portion
So it's not quite 27mg/g of nicotine, it's closer to 18mg/portion of nicotine.
In my review of Offroad Frosted White Dry, I talked a little about the difference in a "white dry" snus. It is a "dry" version of Offroad Frosted, produced in the same way but without any moisture added. The nicotine absorbs into the blood slower than usual until the portion is completely moist, then it will work much like a regular original portion does. Also, when people are taxed by weight in their snus orders, taking some of the moisture out of the snus is a way to help people save money. You can see in the picture to the left the difference in products. The snus on the far left is a regular Offroad White Portion. The snus is more "clumpy" and moist, whereas the Frosted White Dry products are more dry and finely ground and don't stick together as much. If you add moisture to these products yourself, they would look a lot like the product to the far left.
When you open a can of Thunder Frosted White Dry Extra Strong, the aroma that comes through is a strong, fresh smell of spearmint. The portions are a little dry so they aren't extremely comfortable at first, but once they get more moist they feel better in the lip. There's a nice cooling sensation that comes on and the spearmint flavor is mild at first, but grows the longer you have the portion in your mouth. It doesn't get as strong in flavor as regular Thunder Frosted, but the flavor is still very good! One thing I really like about these white dry portions is how long you can use them. I was able to keep a portion in for up to an hour and a half and still have the flavor of the snus remain.
If you like spearmint and white portions, I'd definitely suggest giving this one a try. I like the way the flavor develops, it allows you to enjoy the snus a lot longer than regular white portions. Also, if you're somewhere where snus is taxed based on weight, this is a great way to save money!
