Lots of New Snus! 3 June 2019.

There's lots of new snus out right now, and instead of multiple articles I figured I would just write one article about all of them. We have three new products from AG Snus, and four new products from Swedish Match! Usually summer is a slower time for new snus releases, but it seems like companies aren't slowing down as usual!  So, let's talk about all these new products.  And as usual, when I get ahold of them, I'll make sure to do reviews!

G3 Blue Mint (White Dry)

These two new G3 White Dry products are interesting because I saw them for sale on Northerner.com before I saw them posted on the Swedish Match e-store.  The flavor description for this one says, "G.3 Blue Mint Slim Extra Strong Dry White has a mellow and spicy tobacco taste with distinct notes of peppermint, along with hints of cedar and cocoa. This snus has a long and narrow full sized pouch that has a dry surface with a moist content for a lasting release of flavor." It comes in a 16.6 gram can with 24 portions for 0.69 gram portions. The nicotine content is 14mg/g (1.4%), or 9.66mg/portion.  This one will probably taste similar to the G3 Blue Mint (Extra Strong), but will be more dry so it will have a longer lasting flavor.

G3 Original (White Dry)

The flavor description for this one says, "G.3 Strong Slim Dry White has a mellow and spicy tobacco taste with distinct notes of citrus and bergamot, along with hints of leather and tea. This snus has a long and narrow full sized pouch that has a dry surface with a moist content for a lasting release of flavor." It comes in a 16.6 gram can with 24 portions for 0.69 gram portions. The nicotine content is 14mg/g (1.4%), or 9.66mg/portion.  This one will probably taste similar to the G3 White Strong, but will be more dry so it will have a longer lasting flavor.

G4 Tact (SuperSlim) All White

I noticed this one on the Swedish Match e-store, and also on Northerner.com.  Swedish Match has released two SuperSlim products before - G3 Mint White SuperSlim and G3 Original SuperSlim White.  This is their first SuperSlim all white product, and also the world's first SuperSlim all white product.  The flavor description for this one says, "The snus has a bright and spicy character with clear elements of spearmint."  It comes in a 10.6g can with 20 portions for 0.53g portions.  The nicotine content is 19mg/g (1.9%) or 10.07mg/portion.

Onico Pure White Slim Mint

This one is interesting.  The Onico brand is a Swedish Match line that has no tobacco or nicotine.  However, this is the first release in that line that is "all white".  Or, "Pure White" as the can says.  The description for this one says, "Onico Pure White Slim tobacco and nicotine free portion is made from plant fibers. It has a mellow and spicy character with distinct notes of peppermint along with hints of eucalyptus and vanilla. This product has a long and narrow all white portion with an optimized fit that has a dry surface with a moist content for low salivation and a long lasting release of flavor."  It comes in a 20.8g can with 26 portions for 0.8g portions.  And, of course, no nicotine.

Shiro Cool Mint Strong (All White)

Shiro is a new "all white" line from AG Snus.  This is how AG Snus describes this line:  "Shiro is an all white product, which contains nicotine, but no tobacco at all. Shiro is made of pure plant fiber with added nicotine. The product provides an effective nicotine experience and a long lasting pure flavor. The pouches are all white and made in a slim format having a balanced moisture, which makes the pouch discreet and comfortable in the mouth. Shiro. Japanese for White. Pure flavor for you."  This one is said to have a "strong cool taste with a combination of spearmint and menthol".  It comes in a 12g can with 24 portions for 0.5g portions.  The nicotine content is 10mg/portion which would be 20mg/g (2.0%).  That part is curious to me, as it is listed as a "strong".

Shiro Sweet Mint (All White)

This one is said to have a "a rich taste of mint, sweetness from peppermint and freshness from spearmint".  It comes in a 12g can with 24 portions for 0.5g portions.  The nicotine content is listed as 6mg/portion, which would be 12mg/g (1.2%).  I'm curious to see if this one tastes like the U-Sample Sweet Mint Snus, which is one of my favorite mint products on the market.

U-Sample No5 (Slim White)

U-Sample appears to have launched a snus version of their U-Sample No5 Slim White Chew Bags.  I haven't reviewed that version yet, but I did review them back in 2017 in their original non-slim version.  The description for this product says it has a "balanced taste of classic tobacco with citrus and bergamot".  I'm not sure about the can contents, but the other U-Sample Snus products come in a 16.8 gram can with 24 portions for 0.7 gram portions. The nicotine content for those is 17mg/g (1.7%), which breaks down to 11.90mg/portion.
