Olde Ving 99 (Coffee) - Review. 19 April 2013.

Before I go into the review, I need to explain Olde Ving first. Olde Ving is a GN Tobacco product, formerly "Olde Viking" but renamed by dropping the "ki" in "Viking" for some reason. I didn't start off on the right foot with Olde Viking. I didn't care for the Spearmint or the Ginger Lime, but I did really dig the Original.  If you're in the US and wanting to try this product, I grabbed it from Snus24.com.  They have a huge selection of GN Tobacco products, especially Oden's. If you've never had Olde Ving before, I would also suggest trying Olde Ving Original, that's my personal favorite product from GN Tobacco.

Coffee flavored snus isn't very common, and when it's around, it doesn't last very long. I wasn't a fan of the Offroad Coffee/Vanilla that had such a cult following. I was, however, a part of the "Heisenberg" team that V2 commissioned to help develop the "greatest coffee snus the world had ever seen", which yielded Thunder Chrome Long+ Coffee Supreme and Offroad Coffee Supreme.  And those two snuses, I was a fan of.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but I can appreciate the taste of coffee, if that makes any sense.  So now, GN Tobacco has taken a stab at Coffee flavored snus, and the results are in.  The aroma is a slightly sweet coffee smell.  The portions are moist, but not too moist, and very comfortable in the lip and the taste is quite good.  It's a straight forward coffee taste that has this creamy taste wrapped around it, and a little bit of sweetness.  It reminds me a lot of Mocca Macchiato, another short lived coffee snus that wasn't too bad.  If you're not familiar with what Macchiato is, it's a shot of espresso with foam on top.  That's the closest thing I can think of when it comes to this one.  It doesn't have a bitter aftertaste, the flavors just kinda mellow out and settle into this gentle blend of creamy coffee goodness.  So if you're a fan of coffee and want it in your snus, I'd urge you to try this one.

  1. I really want to try the melon! Is it as good as Jakobsson's Melon? I love that one :)

  2. I ordered 10 cans of this just last week. I'm very excited!
