Tigersnus - Reviews. 19 May 2021.

Tigersnus is a line of organic snus made in Indonesia. It's a pretty special line, and one I enjoy anytime I get to have it.  I've never done a rating of it, so I figured it was time to kick back and review this snus again!  I first had the original flavor back in 2017, and then I got to enjoy the whole line in 2019.  So, it's been a few years!  As much as I review nicotine pouch products these days, trust me, it's a joy when I get to review actual snus products.  And these are more special than the average run of the mill snus.  That being said, before we get into the review, I wanted to share their information.  It's a little long, but worth a read because it tells you how special their products are.  Then, we'll dive in and talk about these products.

Tigersnus Information (via their website):  "At TIGERSNUS we believe in supplying locally sourced, organically grown snus tobacco of the highest quality. Our passion towards tobacco products shows in the quality of our snus. From sourcing locally to using the most environmental friendly packagings we can, to producing TIGER SNUS using organic growing methods, we strive to offer a very unique snus tobacco that sets us apart from other tobacco companies. We believe in sourcing our products locally to not only support the local communities and fight globalization, but also to reduce our carbon footprint, and to minimize our environmental impact. All our products are packed using environmental friendly materials to keep nature the same and tigers happy. We love tigers. We donate 10% of the yearly profits to charities helping to protect the remaining five tiger populations of Asia, and support them to survive from extinction. Let's save the tigers together!"

Tigersnus: Original
Flavor:  "Some things are best when kept simple. Strong and classic tobacco flavor with a hint of organic cocoa comes from our carefully selected signature strains grown organically in Indonesia. Leaves we use for our tobacco are hand selected and carefully sun- and air dried to perfection before grinding. A must try for any tobacco connoisseurs!"
Contents:  17 grams, 24 portions, 0.71g portions.
Nicotine:  16mg/g (1.6%), 11.33mg/portion

Tigersnus: Original
Review:  When you open the can, the first thing you'll notice is the spiral arrangement of the portions.  It's beautiful, and really adds to the presentation.  The aroma is a simple, classic, earthy tobacco smell with subtle wood notes.  The pouches are a slightly dryer white portion, nice and plump, with a great feel in the lip.  In the flavor, it's divine.  The tobacco taste is simply, but pure.  It's a mild, earthy tobacco taste with slight notes of wood to it.  The nicotine level feels a little above the regular mark, but not too much.  The flavor longevity, on average, lasts about an hour.

Tigersnus: Mint
Flavor:  "Some like it fresh and so do we! Our peppermint flavored snus will keep your breath fresh and talk smooth. Mix it with a cold drink, company of your friends and some sunshine by the ocean, and the experience will be complete".
Contents:  17 grams, 24 portions, 0.71g portions.
Nicotine:  16mg/g (1.6%), 11.33mg/portion

Tigersnus: Mint
Review:  Yes, I know, there's a ton of mint products out there.  But, stick with me, because this one isn't too bad.  In terms of this one, the portion, nicotine, and flavor longevity is the same as the last one.  What is different is aroma and flavor.  In the aroma, there's a fresh, mild smell of peppermint.  The tobacco flavor isn't masked by the mint; you can pick the earthy tobacco aroma out of the background.  In the flavor profile, the peppermint is more behind the tobacco.  The tobacco flavor is mild and earthy.  The peppermint flavor peeks out from behind it with a subtle, lightly sweet, fresh flavor of peppermint.  It's an interesting blend!

Tigersnus: Clove
Flavor:  "Exotic flavors from the depths of Indonesian rain forests. Indonesians have traditionally mixed cloves with their tobacco when smoking for the beautiful and fragrant flavor.  We have aimed to bring the smooth and strong taste of clove to our snus, while not overpowering the tobacco aroma."
Contents:  17 grams, 24 portions, 0.71g portions.
Nicotine:  16mg/g (1.6%), 11.33mg/portion

Tigersnus: Clove
Review:  Again, the portion, nicotine strength, and longevity is the same on all these, so I won't get too redundant and go into that.  Where this one differs is the aroma and flavor.  Clove isn't a common flavor in snus products, but is one that I really enjoy.  V2 tobacco made a clove snus back in 2009, and GN Tobacco has their Clove Explosion line (which is, sadly, too strong for regular use).  But this one, it's about perfect.  The aroma of this one is a mild, straightforward aroma of clove.  It's lightly spicy, with a nice tobacco hint in the back.  The flavor is absolutely fantastic.  It's a mild taste of clove, along with a light touch of spice.  It's lightly smoky in nature.  The tobacco base is subtle, but earthy, and stays right behind the clove flavor.

Rating and Final Thoughts

In my opinion, Tigersnus is one of the best lines of snus on the market.  Even the mint snus in this one is tasty and unique, which is saying something.  The Clove one was my favorite, rated at 4.17/5.  Original came in right behind it, at 4/5, and Mint in third place, at 3.83/5.  This product is a true labor of love, which you can tell from start to finish.  The Clove is one of the best snus flavors I've ever had, and if I could get it easier I'd use it full time.  The Original is a great, natural taste of tobacco.  And yes, even the Mint one isn't too bad, because the mint doesn't mask the tobacco flavor.  Tigersnus gets high marks from me!
