Over the years, I've had people ask me to review Pure Nordic. I've never been able to find any so I haven't reviewed it until now. Recently, someone sent us a few Pure Nordic products to review. There isn't much info out there about them. Their
website says, "
PURE NORDIC - the highly esteemed producer of snus has its headquarters in Aalborg. Alborg has been the leading tobacco city in Denmark for many generations. We are passionate about snus." In the past, I was told Pure Nordic products were made by V2 and sold by the Pure Nordic company under their own names. This isn't unheard of, V2 does this as well with the
Royal Snus line. The
product description on SnusLageret.no says, "
Pure Nordic Wintergreen Extra Strong has a high nicotine content and a powerful taste of wintergreen. What makes this special is that it contains much less water. This results in a much lower tobacco tax, giving a lower price to customer. Want a moister snuff, add water and let the box stand in the refrigerator overnight."
Honestly, this product seems to be the same as
Thunder Wintergreen. I didn't notice much of a difference, really. This is a straight-up wintergreen snus. When you open the can a very present, bold wintergreen smell comes out. The portions are quite moist and the flavor releases pretty quickly, as does the nicotine. I don't know the nicotine content of these but if I had to guess I'd say it's around 17mg/g. It feels just like a Thunder Extra Strong portion. The flavor is much the same as the aroma, a straight up, in your face wintergreen flavor. Now, I will say, I'm not a fan of wintergreen. The only wintergreen snus I've ever enjoyed was
Oden's Creamy Wintergreen. However, if you're a wintergreen fan, or like American "dip" that has a wintergreen flavor, you'll probably enjoy this one. It's as wintergreen as it gets.
