I recently reviewed
Catch XRANGE Mint Slim Large White and have been curious about this one - would it be closer to the taste of Catch or the taste of
General Mint Large White? The
taste description says, "
A new generation - General G.3 Slim White Extra Strong, an extra strong real General snus in slim white portion format with a softer surface. Provides a long lasting flavor release and comfortable fit. Fresh mint flavor.
"
To do a comparison between this one and the new Catch XRANGE Slim Large White, the new G3 General Mint is a 16.6 gram can with 24 portions, whereas XRANGE is a 16.8 gram can with 24 portions. So in this case, XRANGE has a little more tobacco. Honestly, the portions don't feel that much different. That 0.2 grams is hardly noticeable across 24 portions. They're about the same length and feel just the same in the lip, so there really isn't much of a difference between the two of them when it comes to size and comfort of portion or portion material.
When you open a can of G3 Mint White, the aroma that comes through is a sharp and bold smell of peppermint. There is an immediate cooling sensation and sense of freshness that comes across as soon as you put a portion in your lip. As far as the taste goes in this one, I don't notice as much of a tobacco taste in this one as in the Catch XRANGE, and I don't pick up that wood/cedar flavor that I picked up in the Catch XRANGE. This one is more of a straightforward peppermint flavor. Comparing this one and General Mint, this one tastes more natural and doesn't taste as sweet as General Mint does. As far as the two go, I prefer the Catch XRANGE Mint when it comes to flavor. That's my personal opinion. But if you like a snus that is more of a straightforward peppermint flavor, this would probably be a better snus for you. Both have great tastes, but I prefer the Catch XRANGE Slim White over this one.
