I've been a fan of LD Snus for many years. When I first got into the traditional flavor profile of Swedish Snus back in 2009, LD White was one of my earliest loves. Today, we're going to be talking about LD 30 - Original and White Portion. These products are very unique in one key area: they contain 30 portions per can! When most snus products can contain anywhere between 13 to 24 portions per can, a can that holds 30 portions is something special. No, it isn't a bigger can. However, to accommodate the extra 6 portions you'll find that there isn't a catch lid in these cans. I personally love the catch lid, but having a can with 30 portions in it is pretty legit.
LD 30 Original Portion
The flavor description for LD 30 Original says, “
LD 30 Original Portion has a tobacco taste with a hint of citrus and bergamot.” This product is a 27 gram can with 30 portions 0.9 grams each. The nicotine content is 10mg/g (1.0%), which breaks down to 9mg/portion.
If you've read my review of regular
LD Original Portion, this one won't be too different. When you open the can the aroma immediately comes through and it's a very bold and present citrus aroma. The portions are very moist, and incredibly comfortable. The taste is a very classic Swedish traditional taste - a very present citrus/bergamot flavor, a great pepper flavor and a little salt in the background. The tobacco taste is very mildly present, but the citrus is in the front seat when it comes to this snus. The flavor lasts a good amount of time; I've found I can enjoy these for up to 45 minutes. Though the nicotine is a little stronger than regular strength, it still feels to be about the regular strength level.
LD 30 White Portion
The flavor description for LD 30 White says, “
LD 30 White Portion has a tobacco taste with a hint of citrus and bergamot.” This product comes in a 24 gram can with 30 portions for 0.8 grams each. The nicotine content is 10mg/g (1.0%), which breaks down to 8mg/portion.
If you've read my review of regular
LD White Portion, this one won't be too much different. When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is the traditional smell of bergamot. The portions are soft to the touch and feel comfortable in the lip. When it comes to the flavor, it is very much a traditional Swedish Snus. The bergamot flavor is very present and comes through in a gentle way. It isn't as tart as most traditional flavored snus products. There's also a mild tobacco character in the background, a light touch of pepper, and a little salt. The flavor lasts a long amount of time; I've found with LD White I can enjoy this one for up to an hour, sometimes an hour and fifteen minutes. Though it's a little stronger than regular LD, the nicotine strength still feels to be about the regular level.
If you want a snus product with a lot of portions in it, LD30 is definitely worth a try!
