Lucy Breakers (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 1 October 2025.

It's been quite a few years since I've had these.  The last time I had them they were called "Lucy Kapsels".  The reason for that is that these have a little flavor capsule in them.  It's an interesting concept, and something the Lucy brand did before anyone else.  The last time I had them, I only tried three of the flavors in their range.  Today, I have six of them to check out:  Mango, Berry Citrus, Espresso, Mint, Apple Ice, and Apple Cider.  Some of these flavors are in the regular Lucy series, but some only exist in the Lucy Breakers series.  Let's open the can and check it out!

Lucy Breakers:  Contents

When you open the can, you'll notice a little bead shows through in some of the pouches.  This is the flavor capsule.  I weighed each portion out at 0.43g.  The can contains 15 pouches each, so that means each can weighs, give or take, 6.45g.  The nicotine content on these is 8mg.  You can also get them in a 4mg strengths, but I found the 8mg strength to be more satisfactory, with a comfortable delivery at the regular strength level.  Also, these all tend to have a flavor longevity of about 40-45 minutes or so.

Lucy Breakers:  The Capsule

I wanted to cut open a pouch to see what it looks like.  You'll notice the contents are pretty dry.  The flavor capsule adds more moisture and flavor to it, so it starts off dry, but once you pop it, it'll spread throughout the pouch.  The moisture level goes up, and so does the flavor.  So at first, the pouch is dry, but it gets more moist as time goes by.  You can pop these any way you choose, but I usually do it with my back teeth.  I haven't had a pouch burst open yet!  Now, let's try out the flavors!

Lucy Breakers Mint

Flavor Description:  "An icy-cool mint taste".

My Review:  In the aroma, this one has a pretty gentle, mild aroma of mint.  Flavor-wise, before breaking the capsule, the mint flavor is very light.  But, after breaking the capsule, I get a more more present, refreshing minty flavor.  It's semi-sweet, but not overly sweet.

Lucy Breakers Mango

Flavor Description:  "Ripe mango flavor".

My Review:  When I open the can, the aroma that comes through is a gentle taste of mango.  Much like the previous one, the mango flavor is mild until I pop the capsule.  After that, I get a pleasant, enjoyable, tropical, full bodied mango taste!  It's tangy, and semi-sweet in essence.  Tasty stuff!

Lucy Breakers Espresso

Flavor Description:  "Delightfully rich, freshly brewed java flavor".

My Review:  This one has a nice coffee present to it.  It's gentle, smooth, and slightly nutty.  The flavor is relatively mild before breaking the capsule.  After that, the flavor picks up and is quite present.  The coffee taste is rich, and bold.  It's almost creamy, with a subtle nuttiness to it.  I don't drink a lot of coffee, but I find this to be pretty flavorful!

Lucy Breakers Berry Citrus

Flavor Description:  "A berry and citrus flavor".

My Review:  This is an interesting one.  I was quite curious to check it out.  In the aroma, a mild berry scent that reminds of me of blueberry, maybe blackberry.  Behind it, a little citrus.  In the flavor, pre-capsule, it's rather mild, as they all are.  But once it pops, I get a lot of taste.  The citrus to me is closer to an orange/apple blend.  It is quite present.  The berry character comes through as a compliment to the citrus.  It most closely reminds of a blueberry/blackberry blend.  These two flavors, surprisingly, mix well together!

Lucy Breakers Apple Ice

Flavor Description:  "A unique mint and apple flavor".

My Review:  I didn't find a lot of aroma or flavor in the regular Lucy version of this.  But, this version is much better.  In the aroma, the minty/Apple character is pretty mild.  And at first, it is in the flavor.  But, bursting open that capsule releases a lot more taste.  The apple flavor is present, and accompanied by this bold, icy, fresh mint character.  It's slightly sweet, but not overly so.

Lucy Breakers Apple Cider

Flavor Description:  "Essence of freshly pressed apples".

My Review:  Opening the can, the aroma is quite mild.  I pick up a light nature of apple.  Perhaps a faint cinnamon touch.  In the flavor, it's also very mild pre-capsule.  But once you pop it, there's a lot of taste with this one.  This one packs a really nice, enjoyable nature of apple and cinnamon.  The apple is fresh, mildly sweet, and lightly tart.  The cinnamon adds a little spice to the background, which mixes really well.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I found these to be pretty decent, and better than their regular pouches.  The flavor capsule is a neat addition, and really adds an extra dimension to the pouches.  In the ranking, this is how they shook out.  Mango on top at 3.67/5.  Espresso next at 3.5/5.  After that, Berry Citrus and Apple Cider at 3.42/5.  And then Mint and Apple Ice at 3.33/5.  They were all decent in their own ways, but if I had to suggest one it would be Mango.  I found that to be the best tasting one of the bunch!
