LD Signum: Ume (White Portion Snus) - Review. 6 August 2023.

The Signum line is a new limited edition line of products from Nordic Snus AB, makers of LD Snus.  I just reviewed their Bergamott Signum release a little while ago, and now I'm here to talk about another one I found on SnusMe.com:  Ume!  This flavor was familiar to me, I've actually had it before.  Back in 2020, Nordic Snus released an Ume flavored snus in their ZeroStyle line, which is sold in Japan.  If you aren't familiar, Ume is a Japanese plum wine that has a salty/sour type of flavor to it.  The plum itself is native to Japan.  So this is a Swedish Snus, with a Japanese flavor!  Pretty neat.  The flavor description for this one says, "A taste of Ume, which is a plum with some sweetness, acidity and an apricot-like hint to it".  Each can weighs 16g and has 20 portions, for 0.8g portions.  The nicotine content is 8mg/portion, which is 10mg/g in total.  Though as we know, the mg/portion is really the number that matters.

This is certainly a unique snus flavor, so let's dive into this review and see what it's all about!  Opening the can, it has a really interesting aroma to it.  It's hard to describe.  It's fruity, slightly tart, a little sour, and seems to have a menthol tone to it.  Under the lip the pouch sits quite nicely.  It's comfortable, plump, and soft.  I experience a slight tingle, which reminds me of what you get with menthol.  I'm not sure if there's any in the recipe, but I do notice it.  The flavor is really interesting.  It's fruity, and is kinda like a sour grape, with an herbal tone to it, some tart notes, and a touch of menthol.  It's a surprising taste.  The nicotine strength on this one feels pretty nice, and delivers at the regular strength level.  The flavor lasts a good hour, on average.  Not bad!

Rating and Final Thoughts

This one wasn't too bad.  I rated it at 3.75/5.  I like unique flavors.  Companies don't seem to get too crazy with it anymore, so I like when companies will do something random and unique.  This one definitely is that.  Now, it's not something I'd use all the time, but it's definitely something fun to try out if you get bored with the average, every day snus.  And I'm glad Nordic Snus is making more and more snus products, when not a lot of people are making snus anymore.  All in all, pretty good!
