Velo Max Freeze (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 27 February 2023.

Usually, when I do a review, I like to do a recap of similar products I've had from the same manufacturer over the years.  But when it comes to Lyft, Velo, and the mint flavor, there's been so, so many it would take me all day to recap them.  Even looking at just the "Freeze" name, there's been a LOT of them.  And recently, BAT has launched a whole lot more mint flavored nicotine pouches:  Velo Max Freeze, Velo Ultra Freeze, Velo Cool Storm, and Lyft Cool Air Ultra Strong.  It's crazy how many there are now.  Velo Max Freeze sits at 17mg/pouch, whereas Velo Ultra Freeze sits at 14mg/pouch, so I suppose they consider "Max" stronger than "Ultra".  It is interesting to me to see that.

When it comes to this one, the flavor description says, "Cooling menthol tones and refreshing peppermint".  Each can weighs in at 14g and has 20 pouches for 0.7g each.  The nicotine content is said to be 17mg/pouch, which doing some backward math would put it at a total of 24.28mg/g.  Though, as we have discussed before, the mg/pouch is the number that matters because that's how much you actually feel when using the product.

So, are you ready to feel that Max Freeze?  Well, let's get into it and check this one out, shall we?  Opening the can, the aroma that comes through is a sharp, focused aroma of mint.  It's mostly peppermint, but with a little menthol in the mix.  The pouches are slim, soft to the touch, with a moderate moisture amount.  Under the lip, I get a slight burn at first, and then a gentle cooling sensation.  The flavor is mostly peppermint, but with a dab of menthol.  It's pretty present, and icy, but not overly sweet.  In the nicotine department, this one has quite a kick.  It hits hard, and fast, and feels to be firmly at the extra strong level.  I find the flavor hangs out about 40-45 minutes, on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

In the flavor department, this one sits at 2.5/5.  To me, it's mediocre - not good, not bad, just there.  I don't use a lot of mint products and honestly all the mint flavors of Velo and Lyft tend to run together for me.  The overall average of this one is 3.08 out of 5.  For people who like mint products, they'll love this one.  The mint flavor is super popular, Lyft/Velo is super popular, and the market keeps moving more and more towards high strength stuff.  So, if that's your cup of tea, here you go!
