Back in the summer of 2020, I reviewed a limited edition product by Fiedler and Lundgren:
Lundgren's Österlen. As they have been doing, Fiedler and Lundgren had higher interest in this particular flavor and brought it back as a regular release: Lundgren's Österlen Slim White Portion. It's interesting, this is the first one I've seen them bring back as strictly a slim white portion and not a perforated white portion. For the name, if you're not familiar, Osterlen is a region in the southeast of the Swedish province of Skåne. The
flavor description for this one says, "
A taste of red apple (Ingrid Marie) and yellow apple (Graven-steiner), with a floral, sweet/sour taste". Each can weighs 15.4 grams and has 22 portions, for 0.7 grams each. The nicotine content is 10mg/g (1.0%), or 7mg/portion.
When I reviewed the limited edition one a while back, I recall it being quite floral, mild in taste, and not heavy on the apple presence. I was curious if this one would have more flavor. Upon opening the can, I noticed a sweet, floral aroma with slight herbal hints to it. The apple came through in a very faint, mild way, much like the limited edition released previously. The slim white portions are comfortable in the lip, but slightly dry. In the flavor, it's a very floral taste. It's sweet, herbal, and has a mild tobacco taste to it. The apple presence is, like the aroma, quite faint. In terms of strength, it feels to be around the regular level. The flavor lasts about an hour on average.
Rating and Final Thoughts
This one ended up at a 3.25/5 for me. A little better than average, but nothing too amazing or anything. A good release for the spring, with the flowers blooming and this one having a floral taste. While not something I'd personally use, I can see those who enjoy sweeter, more floral flavored products enjoying this one. It's a decent snus, and honestly there's not a single product in the Lundgrens line I'd classify as "bad". That's pretty impressive, to me! So, if you like floral flavored products, give this one a go. However if you're looking for a big apple taste, you won't find it here.
