Kozmo Superwhite (All White Snus) - Review. 31 December 2021.

I was recently browsing a Norwegian website, msorensen.no, which I frequently peruse when looking to see what's new in Norway and I stumbled across these:  Kozmo Superwhite.  These are made by our friends Dholakia Tobacco in India, a company that I collaborated with earlier this year on the delectable, delicious Snubie x PAZ Chai Latte.  Kozmo is a new line of all white snus for the Norwegian market and, as such, it cones in the super-fab "Plain Pack" cans.  Some may consider them boring, but I've always been a big fan of these minimalist designs, which you'll see when we get to my rating.  Also, if you aren't familiar with "all white snus", I'll explain real quick.  They look a lot like nicotine pouches, and they do contain cellulose like nicotine pouches (the can lists E460 cellulose), but they also contain white tobacco, which is a type of washed tobacco.  So, these are going to be similar to the G4 Snus line, for example.

Before we get into the reviews, I want to cover what all of these products have in common.  Then, in the reviews, we'll dive into what makes them different.

Product Details:
Can Contents - 12 grams, 20 pouches, 0.6g each
S4 Nicotine Strength - 12mg/g (7.2mg/pouch)
S4 Nicotine Strength - 16mg/g (9.6mg/pouch)

Commonalities:
Pouch / Mouthfeel - These all have a soft, semi-moist, slim pouch.
S2 Nicotine Feeling - The S2 ones feel to be close to regular strength.
S4 Nicotine Feeling - The S4 ones feel to be around the strong level.
Flavor Longevity - The flavors on these tend to last between 35 to 45 minutes.

Kozmo Sicilian Crush (S4)

Flavor Description:  "Flavors of various citrus fruits, with hints of lime and mandarine".

Review:  When you open the can, it's mostly lemon.  It's tart, and lightly sweet in nature.  I also notice a faint dab of lime in there.  In terms of the flavor, it's a pretty good presence of tart lemon.  There's a little sweetness to it, but it's not overdone.  I notice some lime in there, but it's pretty faint and doesn't overtake the lemon at all.

Kozmo Mintastic (S2 and S4)

Flavor Description:  "A taste of classic mint".

Review:  I touched on the difference between an S2 strength and an S4 strength above.  Honestly that's the only difference between these two.  Everything else is virtually identical.  The aroma for both of these is a fresh, smooth, sweet aroma of peppermint.  In the lip, I encounter a cooling presence, due to the mint character.  The flavor of this one is pretty good.  It's not a sharp peppermint, it's more of a smooth one.  It's sweet in nature, and pretty refreshing.

Kozmo Mango Twist (S4)

Flavor Description:  "A lovely taste of mango spiced with undertones of strong chili".

Review:  This one is pretty solid.  I dig a tropical taste from time to time, and this one has it.  The aroma is a fresh, sweet aroma of mango.  In terms of the flavor, it's pretty much the same.  It's got a nice sweet, tropical flavor to it.  The mango is fruity in and natural.  It's not in your face, but it's not super mild, either.

Kozmo Lakrits Chill (S4)

Flavor Description:  "A taste of salty licorice with sweet undertones of mint".

Review:  I'm usually not a big fan of mint/licorice blends.  But this one wasn't too bad, mainly because it's not overly menthol, or overly mentholated.  The aroma is mostly a sweet smell of black licorice.  There is a little menthol to it, but it's not too strong at all.  In the flavor, the licorice is front and center.  It's slightly sweet in nature.  It is a slightly minty taste, but honestly it's not too overdone or overpowering at all.

Kozmo Cool Mint (S2)

Flavor Description:  "A taste of both mint and peppermint."

Review:  Yes, the new Kozmo line has three mint products in it.  Two Mintastic ones and then this one:  Cool Mint.  This one is more your traditional peppermint.  The aroma of this one is a more sharp peppermint.  It's refreshing in nature, and sweet.  Not overly sweet, but sweeter than others.  In the lip you'll get a little cooling sensation, again, due to the mint.  The flavor of this one, like the aroma, is pretty refreshing.  It's a clear, clean peppermint flavor.  The peppermint is lightly sweet, and pretty sharp in presence.

Rating and Final Thoughts

My ratings for these were surprising.  The S2 ones rose to the top, because I prefer regular strength.  In terms of flavor, though, I thought Sicilian Crush and Mango Twist had the best flavors.  It really boils down to what you're looking for in a product.  While my ratings may go a certain way, I'd suggest Sicilian Crush or Mango Twist (if you're more partial to stronger products).  The two S2 ones tied at the top, but I give Mintastic a slight edge.  I'm not sure if these will be sold outside of Norway but, as mentioned above, if you want to try them check out msorensen.no.
