Shiro Piña Colada (Nicotine Pouches) - Review (Discontinued). 14 September 2020.

NOTE:  This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.  The Shiro line was rebranded/relaunched in 2022.

AG Snus in Denmark has recently released three new Shiro products, each with a distinctive alcohol flavor scheme: Shiro Piña Colada, Shiro Cuba Libre, and Shiro Mojito! Today, we're going to be talking about the Piña Colada version!  First, if you're not familiar with nicotine pouches, they're a relatively new trend that has taken the market by storm.  These products contain nicotine, but are completely free from tobacco.  AG Snus says that Shiro is made of "pure plant fiber".  And the name, Shiro, is Japanese for "white", which makes sense - as this is an all white product.  The flavor description for this product says it has "flavors of pineapple and coconut", which is of course what's in a piña colada drink. Each can weighs 12g and has 24 portions, for 0.5g portions. The nicotine strength is 12mg/g (1.2%) or 6mg/portion.

Upon opening the can, a tropical aroma of pineapple greets you with subtle tones of coconut in the background.  It smells like being on the beach feels.  The portions are slim, but lighter in weight.  They're moderately soft to the touch, but still comfortable under the lip.  The flavor on this one is top notch; it has a great tropical flavor!  The pineapple flavor comes through in a smooth, tropical, natural way.  The coconut stays in the background, but pairs with the pineapple quite well.  The flavor profile isn't overly sweet, either, nor does it taste too artificial.  It's a pretty well rounded taste.  The nicotine strength on this one feels to be just a hair below regular strength, and the flavor lasts around 30-40 minutes on average. Definitely a great tasting summer (or beach) release!  Not something I'd use full time, but more of an occasional product for me.

Rating:
Packaging - 3/5 - A good looking, clean design to the can.
Aroma - 3/5 - Great tropical smell, and not too artificial.
Portion/Mouthfeel - 2/5 - Light in weight, moderately soft to the touch.
Flavor - 3/5 - Great flavor.  Not something I could use full time, however.
Nicotine - 2/5 - A little less than regular strength, so not as strong as my personal preference (regular).
Flavor Longevity - 2/5 - Not too long in the longevity department, only 30-40 minutes of flavor.
Average - 2.5/5 - A great tasting, not too artificial, summer/beach flavor.  Only flaws are the lighter weight portion, the lower nicotine strength, and the shortness of flavor.

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed the flavor of this one.  I couldn't use it full time, but it's definitely something I'd keep a can or two around of for when I got the craving for something tropical.  It's also something I could see myself using more in the summer, or anytime I'm on the beach!
