Knox (Original Portion) - Review. 10 November 2014.

This is the third time I'm reviewing this product, but it feels like Skruf changes up the design of Knox Snus every few years. This new design is their best yet - it's very simple, sleek, and classy. It looks very General-esque in terms of the color scheme, with the black and bronze for their original portion variant. Also, Tobak & Mer published at the end of 2019 that Knox had surpassed General for brand supremacy in Sweden. The flavor description for Knox Original Portion says "Knox Portion is a snus with a robust tobacco aroma and flavor". Knox comes in a 21.6 gram can with 24 portions, for 0.9 gram portions. The nicotine strength is listed as “regular”, so if that’s 8mg/g (0.8%) it would be 7.20mg/portion.

When you open a can of Knox Original Portion the aroma that comes through is a an earthy tobacco aroma, with tones of bergamot, and a lightly sweet note to it.  The flavor is very much a classic, traditional Swedish Snus taste - a pairing of tobacco and bergamot, but there's also a little floral taste to it as well.  The tobacco flavor is earthy, but mild.  The citrus flavor is clear, and accompanied by a lightly sweet floral note.  The flavor lasts a pretty good amount of time; I've found I can keep this in and enjoy the flavor for up to 45 minutes.  As far as the nicotine strength goes it feels to be about regular strength 8mg/g level.  As far as Knox goes, it's a pretty solid tasting product.  It's interesting to see how much can change in a few years, that Knox has become so popular!
