It's been a while since I've reviewed any Siberia products. I reviewed Siberia Black back in 2020, but since then I've adopted a rule that I don't review anything over 26mg. I get a lot of requests to review Siberia products, so I thought I'd compromise and review Siberia Blue. These aren't as strong as Siberia Red / Black, and sit at just 26mg/g (still quite strong). Last time I had these, they were 24mg/g, but GN Tobacco's website says they're now 26mg/g. I had Siberia Blue in 2015, and Siberia Blue Slim in 2017, so it's been a bit! The flavor description, from their website, says "Powerful snus tobacco blend providing a strong and very special mint/spearmint experience". What's interesting about these is that both cans weigh the same, 20 grams. Both cans also contain 20 portions, so both the White Portion and Slim White Portion weigh 1 gram each. The nicotine content, of 26mg/g, would put these both at 26mg/portion. That means these cap out as the strongest products I will review.
Opening the can, the aroma is a bold, present aroma of mint. It seems to be a blend. It's slightly sweet, perhaps from some spearmint, but semi-icy, perhaps from some peppermint or menthol. The portions are slim, with moist contents. They are firm, and well packed, so you need to fluff these before putting them under your upper lip. I get a cooling presence when I put one under the lip. In the flavor, it's a pretty refreshing mint taste. It's bold, with a spearmint/peppermint type blend. I also pick up some tobacco taste in the background, but it's relatively mild. In the strength, it is strong stuff. It hits hard and fast. I don't use a lot of this stuff personally, so I feel it within about 10 minutes. I'd say it's firmly above the extra strong level. The flavor, on average, seems to last about an hour.
This one doesn't seem too different from the other one. When I open the can, the aroma is much the same. These come in the full size, white portions, however. I notice the tobacco to also be quite firm, and compact. In some pouches, it's isolated to one side of the portion. So, I do suggest fluffing these, to make them more comfortable. The flavor profile is also the same as the previous one. It has the same taste, and the same presence. In the nicotine strength, it feels to deliver about the same as the previous one. It is, also, quite strong. The flavor longevity seems to be the same, as well.
Rating and Final Thoughts
So, these products are pretty close to identical, the main difference being the portion format. When selecting one, it comes down to if you want a slim portion, or a full sized portion. I didn't rate these last time, so this is my first time giving these a score. The slim version sits at 2.88/5, and the full sized version sits at 2.83/5. Honestly, neither of these are my cup of tea, and I find them both too strong. But, if anyone asks, I can at least say I've recently reviewed a Siberia Snus product.
