Back in 2009, when I first started using snus, there was a snus called
General Sterk (Strong) White Portion. It was one I enjoyed on occasion. In 2015, Swedish Match discontinued that snus, and launched a new one in it's place,
XRANGE General Strong White. Then, in 2025, Swedish Match discontinued the XR line, and also launched two new products - this one, General Strong Slim White, and brought back the full-size
General Strong White. The flavor description for this one says "
A light and spicy tobacco character with clear hints of citrus and bergamot, as well as a hint of tea". Each can weighs 16g and has 20 portions, weighing 0.8g each. The nicotine content isn't listed on the SM website, but retailers online have it anywhere between 13.5-14mg/g. So, that would translate to 10.8-11.2mg/portion of nicotine. Now, let's pop open a can and throw in a portion!
Opening the can, I pick up the classic aroma of General Snus. The citrusy, tart aroma of bergamot, a spicy touch of pepper, and an earthy tobacco base. The portions are slim, moderately soft, and comfortable under the upper lip. They aren't super moist, so they yield a light, gradual release of flavor. The taste is just as good as always, though. Nothing's changed but the name! The bergamot flavor is front and center, followed by a peppery spice, and that rich, earthy tobacco base underneath it all. In the strength, this one feels a little above the regular level, but isn't too strong by any means. The flavor also lasts about an hour, on average!
Rating and Final Thoughts
As this product hasn't changed since last time I had it, my rating also remains unchanged. I put this one at 3.5/5. It's still a great snus. It has the classic General flavor, and a little extra strength for those who want something stronger than regular.
