Another day, another new US market nicotine pouch brand. It seems like these are popping up left and right these days. Today we have "NYKD". I'm not sure of the pronunciation, but it looks like "naked" to me. I don't know. I'm not sure where these are made, as I can't find that information on their website, or on the can. Each can of NYKD weighs 10g, and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.5g each. All of the pouches are slim, lighter in weight, moderately soft, and semi-dry. The strengths they offer are 3, 6, and 12mg. For this review, I skipped the 3mg, because that's a bit too low for me. I found the 6mg to be decent, but below the regular level. The 12mg one was a little stronger, but still felt just around the regular strength mark. The flavor longevity of all of these was about 30-40 minutes. Now that we've talked about what they have in common, let's check out their differences: aroma and flavor!
NYKD Wintergreen
NYKD Vibe
NYKD Spearmint
NYKD Peppermint
NYKD Citrus Ice
NYKD Wintergreen
Flavor Description: "A crisp, yet mild mind flavor that's perfect for all day enjoyment".
My Review: In the aroma, this one has a gentle aroma of wintergreen. It's not super minty, either. Flavor-wise, it's honestly not bad. It's a present wintergreen flavor. It's not overly minty, compared to a lot of other wintergreen products out there.
NYKD Vibe
Flavor Description: "A refreshing, chilling and unflavored nicotine experience".
My Review: Being an unflavored one, I don't pick up much in the aroma or flavor. Really, all I taste is portion material.
Flavor Description: "A moderate amount of minty flavor that's a perfect medium between wintergreen and peppermint".
My Review: This one has a light aroma of spearmint, but seems to perhaps have a little peppermint to it, as well. In the flavor profile, it's a light taste of mint. It's mostly spearmint, with some sweetness. I pick up a little peppermint, too.
Flavor Description: "The most potent mint flavor available".
My Review: This one is as promised. It's a present aroma of peppermint. It has a light sweetness to it, as well. In the flavor, the peppermint flavor comes through pretty clearly. It's present, but not too bold. It also has a touch of sweetness to it.
Flavor Description: "A blend of lemon, lime, bergamot, and orange meets the glacial chill of our crisp mint".
My Review: I've had a lot of citrus pouches in the US, and most of them taste like cleaning products. So, I was curious how this one would shake out. In the aroma, it's kind of a fruity citrus. It's lightly sweet, and lightly tart. The flavor isn't too bad, and doesn't taste as much like Pine Sol as some others do. This one is a present citrus taste, but more on the sweet side than the tart side. It's pretty interesting.
Rating and Final Thoughts
These were about average for me. Nothing that stands out, just average. Wintergreen came in at 2.88/5. Then Citrus Ice at 2.79/5. Then, Spearmint and Peppermint at 2.71/5. And lastly, Vibe at 2.69/5. That one mainly because I didn't have an aroma or flavor to rate. So, these were pretty standard pouches. But if you're in the US and looking for new stuff to try, you might like them. For me, nothing really monumental or anything.
