Today, we have a new snus to check out. Yes, you read that correctly, actual snus! I've been reviewing so many nicotine pouches lately that it's relieving to get a can of snus on my desk today. This one has been around for a while, but it's taken me a long time to find it. I tracked a can down over on
SwedishProducts.online. The flavor description says "
A licorice and salmiak flavor". Each can weighs 17.6 and has 22 portions. They're going to weigh in at 0.8g each. In total, the nicotine content is 10mg/g. With the 0.8g portions, that means 8mg/portion! Let's put a portion in and see how this one tastes.
In the aroma, I pick up a nice, lightly sweet, present aroma of black licorice. There's also a gentle tone of tobacco behind it. The portions come in the perforated white type, which means they have little holes in them. This gets the flavor out faster. These can bug my gums if I use them too much, so I have to moderate these types of portions. The flavor is really good. The black licorice taste is present, lightly sweet, and accompanied by a rich tobacco base. It's a solid flavor. The nicotine strength feels to be right at the regular level and has a nice delivery to it. The flavor lasts up to about an hour, on average. All in all, it's nice to have a real snus portion under my lip again.
Rating and Final Thoughts
This was a really tasty snus. I rated it at 3.42/5. My only complaint is the perforated portion. Don't get me wrong, they're nice from time to time. But I wish they'd go back to offering the standard slim white portions,
