I've been getting a lot of requests for these over on the new Snubie TikTok account. So, I figured I'd grab some for review! Today, we're checking out Clew. I read on the bottom of the can that these are a "Product of India", which seems to be where a lot of companies are having their pouches made. Alp, Fre, and 2One, for example, all originate in India. Each can weighs 10g, and has 20 pouches, for 0.5g each. They're all slim, moderately soft, and semi-moist. They have a nice mouthfeel, and are comfortable against the gum. These come in multiple strengths - 3, 6, 9, and 12mg. At the Murphy USA I found these at, they only had them in the 6mg/pouch strength. This strength feels a little on the lighter end, slightly below regular strength. The flavor longevity, on average, lasts about 40-45 minutes. Now, let's see how they taste!
My Review: Opening up the can, I pick up a fresh, sweet aroma of wintergreen and mint. It seems to be a pretty even balance of the two flavors. In the taste, it's very much the same thing. As I've come to call this flavor profile, it tastes of "mintergreen". The taste is a sweet blending of mint and wintergreen.
Clew Spearmint
Flavor Description: "A cool spearmint flavor with a hint of sweetness".
Flavor Description: "A cool spearmint flavor with a hint of sweetness".
My Review: In the aroma of this one, it's a sweet aroma of spearmint. It's present, and comes through pretty clearly. The flavor is pretty much the same thing. It's a pretty direct flavor of spearmint. It is also a little on the sweeter side.
Clew Cool Mint
Flavor Description: "A burst of cool mint flavor".
Flavor Description: "A burst of cool mint flavor".
My Review: This one is also a sweeter one. I pick up a present aroma of peppermint. It's icy, and refreshing. In the flavor profile, this one is minty, icy, and refreshing. The peppermint flavor is present, and on the sweeter side of things.
Clew Blueberry
Flavor Description: "A blueberry flavor with a touch of tartness".
Flavor Description: "A blueberry flavor with a touch of tartness".
My Review: This one has a pretty nice aroma to it. It is quite fruity, and rather sweet. The blueberry flavor is present, and comes through pretty clearly. In the flavor profile, it's very much the same thing. A sweet, fruity taste of blueberry. Like with the other ones, I noticed this one to be on the sweeter side of the spectrum. It's not bad, but it is definitely sweeter than other pouches I've had.
Rating and Final Thoughts
These were about average to me. They weren't bad, but not amazing. Just average. Spearmint and Wintergreen came out on top at 2.83/5. Cool Mint and Blueberry came in behind them, at 2.75/5. The flavors are the pretty standard American flavors, so if you like a sweeter pouch, I think you'll be happy with these. They weren't exactly my cup of tea, but I don't do a lot of really sweet stuff.
