Lone Wintergreen (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 3 July 2025.

I recently got ahold of these Lone Nicotine Pouches after hearing about them on MassSpecEverything - a guy who tests what is actually in the pouches we use.  Lone says "This is the cleanest, most biocompatible nicotine pouch on the market — built for people who care about their long-term health as much as they care about performance", so you know I had to see what it was about.  MSE found it also contained no synthetic cooling agents in the recipe, which impressed him, as well.  Lone uses Xylitol as a sweetener and also says there are no plastic binders in these.  Today, we have their wintergreen to check out, but they also make a cinnamon one and a mint one.  The flavor description for this one says "Wintergreen flavor with a clean, cooling finish".  Each can weighs 6 grams and has 15 pouches, weighing 0.4g each.  This is very similar to Zyn, so I imagine this was made to stand opposite that brand.  Now, let's open a can and check it out.

When I open it up, the aroma is definitely minty.  It seems to be a menthol/spearmint blend with a hint of wintergreen to it.  The pouches are very similar to Zyn.  They're small, relatively flat, and dry.  Usually not my sort of thing, but for folks who love Zyn, they'll find this form factor to be appealing and familiar to them.  In the lip I pick up a little cooling sensation, though apparently not from an added cooling agent.  The flavor is, what I've come to call it, "Mintergreen".  It's basically a product with a lot of mint, and then some wintergreen to it.  It's like a mint/menthol blend, then with wintergreen in the background.  It's not super sweet, either, which is nice.  The nicotine strength, at 6mg, is a little light, and feels to be below regular strength.  Like Zyn, Lone also comes in 3mg and 6mg, so for those who enjoy that particular strength range, they'll be happy with this range.  The flavor lasts about 30 minutes, on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I rated these at 2.92/5.  Okay, that is going to sound low, but to preface this, that is my personal rating.  I don't use a lot of mini nicotine pouches.  I don't like the dry ones.  I don't use a lot of mint/wintergreen products.  I like strengths that are higher than these.  So this product isn't one that I would use or buy again.

But, to put on my objective cap, I think people who like Zyn will really enjoy this series.  It's high quality, and "clean", as they put it.  The flavor quality is comparable to Zyn, as is the nicotine experience.  Looking at it from the outside, and comparing it to Zyn (which I think this is made to compete with), I think people will really dig it.  So, even though it's not for me, don't let that shut you out of trying it.
