I've reviewed several products in the
Swave nicotine pouches lineup, and today we're talking about their latest one: Swave Green Mintini. Don't let the name confuse you, this isn't a mint product, it's one with a wintergreen flavor. This isn't a common flavor with nicotine pouches, honestly. I bought this one from
Snus24.com, but I wanted to share the flavor description from the Swedish Match e-store: "
Wintergreen has long been part of Gotlandssnus' range in the form of Jakobsson's Wintergreen. The characteristic taste with a touch of fresh mint is a winning concept and deserves a place in the Swave range, we thought. Therefore, we can now proudly present the Swave Green Mintini Slim Strong. A Slim product with low drip and a taste that stays for a long time". Each can weighs in at 16 grams, and has 20 portions, for 0.8 gram portions. The nicotine content is 11mg/g (1.1%), or 8.8mg/portion.
To preface this review, I'm not a major fan of wintergreen. I review it, but it's not really something I use all the time, personally. When you open the can, yep, it's wintergreen. It's a sweet, present, straightforward smell of wintergreen. The portions are slim, and semi-moist. They're comfortable in the lip, but I suggest fluffing the, because the material in the pouch is a little clumpy. It has a light cooling presence in the lip when you put a pouch in. The flavor is a pretty fresh wintergreen taste. It's mild, but present. There's some sweetness to it, and a slight minty character. The nicotine strength on this one feels about regular, and the flavor seems to kick around for about 40-45 minutes.
Rating and Final Thoughts
While I'm not a big fan of wintergreen, this one wasn't bad. I rated this one at 3.25/5. Honestly, there aren't a lot of wintergreen products out there, and I think people who dig wintergreen would probably like this one. Gotlandssnus is usually good about adding flavors to their products, and I think they nailed the flavor on this one. If you dig wintergreen and like nicotine pouches, I think you'd enjoy this one.
Let me say I’m a wintergreen guy and I switched over to snus a few years ago and it’s tough to find a wintergreen flavor because it’s not popular in Sweden. Tried general and it’s ok but then found jakobssons and it’s fantastic. Tried to switch over to Nic pouches but 99% are mint flavored not wintergreen so I started to give up until I happened to come across these which are made by the same manufacturer as jakobssons snus. I went big and ordered 10 cans hoping it would taste close to jakobssons and it is! These are the best made Nic pouches I’ve ever had. If you’re a wintergreen person you will love these!
