I recently remarked that Snubie.com would be restructuring, mainly in regards to what products I would review. I originally planned on capping it at 26mg/g, however I realized that most products don't have a standard weight, so I changed it. I decided that I wouldn't review anything over 26mg/portion. That meant that I would be excluding products like Siberia from future reviews, as I didn't feel I'd review something that I wouldn't suggest people use, if I wouldn't use it myself. However, GN Tobacco in Sweden has released a bunch of mini portions, and yes, some of them, are Siberia products. I grabbed them all on a recent Snus24.com order so we could check them out. Why am I reviewing them? Because mini portions are quite light in weight, which dramatically reduced the nicotine per portion strength, thus qualifying these products for review. Today, we're checking out three products: Siberia Red Mini, Siberia Black Mini, and Oden's Cold Mini, all white dry portions. These products weigh in at 9 grams, with 20 portions in the can, making the weight 0.45g per portion. For Siberia, that reduces the 43mg/g nicotine strength to 19.35mg/portion. For Oden's Cold, that reduces the 22mg/g nicotine strength to 9.9mg/portion. With that being said, let's dive on in and talk about these products!
Flavor Description: "Powerful blend providing a strong and very special mint/spearmint experience."
Review: When you open the can, a sharp mint smell greets you, along with some mild tobacco. The portions are quite small, moderately soft, and not too dry to the touch. In the lip, you'll get a cooling presence from the mint. The flavor is a present mint taste, with a little tobacco in the background. The mint isn't super bold, but still present. The nicotine feels to be about the extra strong level, and not as strong as Big Siberia. The flavor lasts about 1.5 hours.
Siberia Black White Dry Mini
Flavor Description: "Powerful chewing tobacco blend with classic and spicy Swedish tobacco flavor – peppery and with flowery elements."
Review: This one has a pretty nice aroma to it. It's mostly tobacco, with a floral presence, and some hints of pepper. The portions are, like the last one, small and semi-dry, but still comfortable in the lip. The flavor is a mild, earthy tobacco taste. I pick up a peppery hint to it, along with some floral notes. The nicotine feels to be about the extra strong level, and the flavor lasts about 1.5 hours, on average.
Oden's Cold White Dry Mini
Flavor Description: "Powerful but well rounded and flavorful blend with clear and cooling flavors of real mint oils."
Review: When you open the can, a sweet smell of spearmint greets you. There's also a mild tobacco character in the background. The portions, like the others, are small in size, semi-soft, and pretty comfortable under the lip. There's a light cooling presence that comes on, as well. In the flavor profile, it's a mild, sweet taste of spearmint. There's a light tobacco base to it, but not too bold. The nicotine level feels a little above regular strength, and the flavor kicks around or about 1.5 hours.
Rating and Final Thoughts
If you've had Siberia Red, Siberia Black, or Oden's Cold before, these are basically the same thing, but in a mini portion size. If you're like me, and won't touch Siberia due to the strength, these are more approachable because they're nowhere near as strong. I gave the Oden's Cold Mini 3.5/5, Siberia Black Mini 3.42/5, and Siberia Red Mini 3/5. These are the strongest mini portions on the market, so for those who like a snus with a kick but want a smaller size, you may enjoy the Siberia ones. The Oden's one is about as strong as a regular strength one, so people who like mint flavors and want a mini portion may enjoy that one.
