Gletscher Prise Nasal Snuff Review - 24 February 2022.

With the snus market getting smaller the past few years (thanks to the rise of nicotine pouches), there haven't been a lot of new smokeless tobacco products for me to review.  That has led me to start adding nasal snuff reviews here to Snubie.com.  I've been using and enjoying nasal snuff for quite some time, and figured it was time to add these reviews here!  This is a product by Pöschl Tabak.  This Germany manufacturer is the world's largest producer of nasal snuff, and the company dates back to 1902.  They're family run, and in their fourth generation.  The product description for this one says, "Poschl Gletscherprise, as the name implies, is a pinch off the ol' glacier. This amalgam of prize tobacco leaves and a spicy brew of eucalyptus, camphor and Mentholatum that combine to provide a dramatic lift with just one whiff".  This is a 10 gram tin.

From the first whiff, you'll notice an aroma of menthol, and mildly sweet tobacco coming from the tin.  This is one of those tap-tins, so I tapped a little onto my thumb webbing and gave it a nice inhale.  It's semi-moist, not too fine, and pretty easy to take.  You can see a shot of the tobacco to the left here that gives you a look at what it looks like.  I find a cooling sensation on the inhale which is pretty refreshing.  In the nose, it's a present menthol, along with a subtle, sweet tobacco presence.  It has a lightly earthy presence to it.  I don't notice much of a drip, nor do I notice a major throat hit.  The nicotine level on this one feels about moderate.  In the after-presence, the menthol doesn't seem to linger, but a cooling presence does hang out for a bit.

Rating and Final Thoughts

All in all, this one isn't bad.  I rated it at 3.13/5.  I'm not the biggest fan of menthol products, and I know a lot of people in the snuff world are big into menthol products.  It's just not my cup of tea.  That being said, this is a well rounded product.  I think people who dig menthol would enjoy this one.  If you haven't had it, I'd suggest checking it out.
