G.4 No10 Northern Woods (Slim All White) Snus - Review (Discontinued). 17 October 2021.

NOTE:  This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

Early this year, I saw this product for sale.  At the time, I had lost my connection in Norway after he moved to Germany.  However, I have a new friend in Norway who was able to grab this for me, so today we're checking out a new G4 product by Swedish Match: G.4 All White No10 Northern Woods!  My friend bought this for me on Snus365.no, which has a ton of Norwegian products I'll be reviewing here soon.  If this name sounds familiar, it's also available in the Zyn series as Zyn Northern Woods.  The flavor description for this one says, "G4 All White No10 Northern Woods is a strong, all-white snus in a soft portion. The taste is inspired by nature. Here are hints of spruce shoots, bergamot, herbs, lavender and dark berries".  Each can weighs 19.2 grams and has 24 portions, for 0.8 gram portions.  The nicotine content is 11mg/g (1.1%), or 8.8mg/portion.

Now, what are the differences between regular snus, all white, and nicotine pouches? Regular snus is, of course, brown tobacco/regular tobacco. Nicotine pouches are products that don't contain tobacco - they have plant fiber and nicotine instead. All white is a mix of white tobacco with a small share of plant fiber. White tobacco is usually refined through some water-based process. You can see on the left the pouch looks like regular snus, except it's all white, as is the material inside the pouch. These also remain completely white before, during, and after use.

If you've had the Zyn Northern Woods before, this one is virtually identical, but seems more "full".  Perhaps because it contains tobacco while Zyn does not.  When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is a smell of spruce, some pine, and a light berry touch.  The berry reminds me of a less sweet mix of cranberry and strawberry.  In the lip, the portions are slim, moderately soft, semi-moist, and pretty comfortable.  The flavor definitely has a forest-y presence to it.  I clearly pick up spruce, along with some subtle hints of pine.  There's a light floral sweetness to it, as well.  The berry taste is of a dark nature, and is semi-sweet.  It's like a muted cranberry/strawberry.  In terms of strength, it feels about the regular level, and the flavor lasts about 45-50 minutes, on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I rated this one at 3.79/5.  It's a pretty solid product, and I'm honestly surprised Swedish Match has kept it in Norway and hasn't released it on the Swedish market yet.  It has the things I liked about the Zyn Northern Woods, but has more fullness to it, due to the fact that this has tobacco in it, albeit white, whereas Zyn does not.  If you're in Norway, this is a pretty solid product and one I'd suggest checking out if you're into the all white category!
