For about 12 years now, I've been a snus enthusiast. Last year, I branched out a bit and reviewed Cannadips CBD Pouches for the first time. My wife was the CBD enthusiast, so I mainly did it because she was curious. However, over time as I reviewed more of the Cannadips line, I went from casual reviewer to full time user. Today, we're getting an exclusive with the latest in their Humboldt Collection: Cannadips Trainwreck! The Humboldt line is where you'll find their shout out to the Emerald Triangle. This line is full of unique collaborations and their most impressive flavors. Each can of Cannadips weighs in at 8.25g, and has 15 pouches, for a weight of 0.55g per pouch. Each pouch has 10mg of CBD per pouch. When I review Cannadips, I hear some folks saying "there are stronger pouches on the market", or "that's not much CBD", however one thing I've come to appreciate about Cannadips is that their pouches have some of the highest bioavailability of CBD pouches on the market. While others may advertise higher CBD contents, they don't actually deliver it. But Cannadips does.
For my snus audience that may not be familiar with CBD, I'll do a quick explanation. Via the Cannadips website, CBD is "short for cannabidiol, and is one of the many plant-produced cannabinoid compounds and found within the hemp plant. You can source CBD from many different types of cannabis." Drugs.com says CBD is "effective at relieving anxiety, depression, pain, inflammation, and improving sleep". Inside each Cannadips pouch you'll find a proprietary fiber blend (coconut fiber, roasted chicory root), vegetable glycerin, cane sugar, organic palm oil, hemp CBD flakes (acacia tree gum, hemp concentrate, potato maltodextrin), natural flavors, and xanthan gum. As I get these questions a lot, no, Cannadips will not get you high, and no, Cannadips will not cause you to fail a drug test.
The Trainwreck Strain: History and Origins
According to the Seedman blog, the Trainwreck strain is a favorite in the cannabis community. It is one of the most potent strains, and it’s made of Mexican Sativa, Thai Sativa, and Afghani Indica. It is debated when the strain originated, some argue that it falls between the 1960’s and 1980’s. Trainwreck originally appeared in Humboldt County, so it being in the Humboldt collection is quite fitting! Supposedly, a train wreck occurred near the crop of a couple of brothers, and they had to harvest early to avoid getting busted. Some sources also claim the name is named due to how hard it hits, like a “runaway train”. In regard to the flavor profile, Weedmaps notes that it has high levels of the terpenes terpinolene, myrcene, and limonene, which give it a lemon/lime and pine flavor.
What is CBD?
This is one of Cannadips most complex releases I’ve had yet. When you open the can, there’s a lot going on. The aroma starts of slightly sweet, but with a subtle, tart presence to it. There’s some lemon, and a little lime to it. I smell a little pine, along with a subtle presence of pepper. The pouch is the usual Cannadips pouch - a little dry at first, but it gets more comfortable as it gets more moist in the lip. It’s comparable to a white portion snus, the dryer pouch yields a more steady delivery of flavor, and a longer lasting flavor profile. The flavor is where this one really shines. Like the aroma, it starts off with a sweet nature to it. I pick up lemon up front, along with some lime mixing in, which gives it a tart taste. In the background I find notes of pine, as well as a little pepper. It has a fresh presence to it, but I don’t want to say it’s minty. Maybe it’s a little minty. In terms of CBD delivery, it’s steady, satisfactory, and on part with other Cannadips products. The flavor longevity, as with other Cannadips products, is quite impressive! The flavor yields an experience that can be stretched well over an hour.
Rating and Final Thoughts
I rated this one at 4.13/5. There's a reason Cannadips is always my highest rated when I review CBD pouches: quality, quality, quality. I said it three times because it's important. From the can, to the pouches, to the CBD bioavailability, to the flavor quality, Cannadips nails it. They're the originator of the CBD pouch, and have really put a focus on putting out the best possible product. Heck, before I tried Cannadips I had no interest in CBD. But I liked their products so much I added it to my daily usage. If you've never had Cannadips before, definitely grab some and check it out.
