Rämmarsnus (Nicotine Pouches) - Review. 19 May 2021.

I know, I know, another day, another nicotine pouch review.  It seems like this is 99% of the new products coming out these days, so it's most of what I review.  But, for my snus audience, I did start a new series called "Only Snus" for the more hardcores, if you want to check that out.  But, back to the topic at hand, today we're talking about a new nicotine pouch product from the Embassy of Snus in Lithuania called Rämmarsnus.  Keep in mind, this isn't snus, despite the company name or product name, this is a nicotine pouch product that is free from tobacco.  Usually nicotine pouches are made to differentiate themselves from snus, or tobacco products, so it was surprising to see "snus" in both the company name and product name, when these don't have tobacco in them.  These products are mainly for people trying to escape tobacco.  Now, in this review we'll be covering three products in this series, so let's get right into it!

Rämmarsnus: Yeti (Extra Strong)
Flavor Description:
Can Contents:  10 grams, 20 portions, 0.5g portions
Nicotine Strength:  34mg/g (3.4%) / 17mg/portion

Rämmarsnus: Yeti (Extra Strong)
Review:  When you open the can, there's a fresh aroma of peppermint along with a subtle smell of menthol.  The portions are soft, pretty comfortable, and slightly dry.  Being a mint product, there's also a light cooling presence that comes on in the lip.  In terms of the flavor, it's a pretty mild, fresh taste of peppermint along with a faint touch of menthol.  The nicotine level feels firmly at the extra strong level, and the flavor lasts about 30-35 minutes, on average.

Rämmarsnus: Melon
Flavor Description:
Can Contents:  10 grams, 20 portions, 0.5g portions
Nicotine Strength:  16mg/g (1.6%) / 8mg/portion

Rämmarsnus: Melon
Review:  When you open the can, this one has a mild, faint aroma of melon to it.  It's very light in presence.  The pouches are slim, moderately soft, slightly dry, but comfortable under the lip.  In the flavor, the melon is fresh, but quite mild.  It also has a light herbal character to it.  The nicotine strength feels about regular, and the flavor lasts about 30-35 minutes, on average.

Rämmarsnus: Arctic Freeze
Flavor Description:
Can Contents:  10 grams, 20 portions, 0.5g portions
Nicotine Strength:  20mg/g (2.0%) / 13mg/portion

Rämmarsnus: Arctic Freeze
Review:  I know, another mint review.  That's two in this one review.  But when like 90% of the market today is mint flavors, it's almost unavoidable, sadly.  This one, in the aroma, has a sharp, present smell of menthol along with a very mild touch of peppermint in the background.  The portions, like the others, are slim-fit, and soft to the touch.  They're slightly dry, and come with a cooling sensation when put under the upper lip.  The flavor is pretty mild.  There's a subtle menthol, and a light touch of peppermint.  It's lightly sweet, and not overly sweet.  In terms of strength, it feels to be about the strong level.  The flavor, on average, lasts about 30-35 minutes.

Rating and Final Thoughts

All of these products were pretty decent for a first offering from a new company.  Score-wise, they all came in a little above average.  Melon rated on top at 2.96/5, Yeti at 2.83/5, and Arctic Freeze at 2.67/5.  They weren't horrible, they weren't exceptional, just kind of average for me.  I wish the flavors were a little more pronounced, I think that would make these stand out a bit more.
