SwedSnus / SnusRoom.com Enbär (Juniper) - Review. 11 April 2021.

I've been enjoying the SnusRoom.com website quite a bit lately.  I like their website because they sell bulk snus in cheap, and they ship to the US.  But also because, as a lös snuser, it's fun to make my own lös at home, and it's fun to play around with the flavors they make.  I just made a batch of six and they turned out great!    In terms of their portion versions, they have quite a lot of flavors, and they come with a cheap price tag; this one was $29.90 USD for the bag, which is about $1.99 a can.  Today, we're going to be talking about their enbär, or juniper version.  The flavor description for this one says, "Flavoured with clean, natural juniper oil, with a light touch of bergamotte for a complementing nuance of fresh citrus, and a careful hint of smokiness to add yet another dimension to both the taste and the aromas".  Each bag, when you get it, weighs 195 grams and has 300 portions, for 0.65g per portion.  The nicotine content, in total, is 11mg/g (1.1%), which breaks down to about 7.15mg/portion.  Now, you could use the product as is.  Or, you could add moisture to it and make original portions!

Adding Moisture

I've experimented with various moisture levels, and have found that I like the portions to hover around 45% moisture. To get to that level, I've found that adding 0.16ml per portion gets it where I like it to be. You can mix up the whole bag, or half the bag, or however many you want!  Once you add the moisture, throw it in the fridge for 48 hours and let the flavors/moisture settle, then it's good to go!  Now, let's review this product and talk about the two different versions.

White Dry / As-Is Version

When you open the can, the aroma is a present smell of juniper, along with floral notes, a light touch of citrus, and almost a touch of pine.  The portions are the white dry format, but are soft, comfortable, and have a nice fit under the lip with the lighter weight.  The flavor of juniper is clear, and slightly herbal.  It seems to have a little pine to it, and a really, really light touch of citrus.  The nicotine feels to be between regular strength and strong, and I find the flavor lasts about an hour.

Original Portion / Moisture Added Version

Now, the original portion version!  Original portion is my favorite format, so of course I enjoyed this one more.  I find the flavor and aroma to be more pronounced with this one.  The aroma has a clear juniper smell, and a light base tobacco.  I pick up some pine in there, some floral notes, and a little citrus.  The moisture amount turned out great, and it has a nice release of flavor to it.  It’s also soft, and comfortable under the lip.  In the flavor, the juniper is present, clear, and lightly herbal.  There’s some pine, a little citrus, and a nice tobacco base to it.  In terms of strenght, it also feels to be between regular strength and strong.  The flavor lasts, on average, 40-45 minutes.

Rating and Final Thoughts

All in all, not a bad snus.  It has an interesting approach to the juniper flavor profile.  And I like that little note of pine I pick up in the flavor profile.  I rated the original portion version I made at 3.67/5, and the white dry/as-is version at 3.58/5.  It's no "GR killer", but it's still a pretty solid snus.  It's certainly an option for folks looking to save a little money by buying in bulk!
