General Onyx Titan (Svart/Black Portion) - Review (Discontinued). 21 January 2021.

NOTE:  This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale.

I gotta say, it is so nice to be able to review a snus product with tobacco in it!  I've been doing so many nicotine pouch reviews lately, it's nice to get back to what I do best:  snus reviews.  The Onyx line by Swedish Match has been growing!  From the launch of Onyx in 2006 as Swedish Match's most exclusive, premium portion snus, to 2019's addition of Onyx Gold, it's been interesting to see the line grow and expand.  Now, Swedish Match has added a new one:  Onyx Titan!  The flavor description for this one says, "ONYX Titan has a dark and full-bodied tobacco character with floral and slightly smoky elements".  Each can weighs 21.6g and has 24 portions, for 0.9g portions.  The nicotine content is 12mg/g (1.2%), or 10.8mg/portion.

When I open the can, a dark, robust tobacco base greets me along with a subtle smokiness.  The portions are semi-soft, but with moist contents.  The portion is wedged to get into the star formation, so when you take a portion out of the can I suggest fluffing it to make it more comfortable under the lip.  The flavor is a present, robust tobacco flavor.  It is dark and earthy in nature, with a subtle smoky character.  It also has a light presence of oak in the background.  If you've had G3 TNT before, it reminds me of that but with a fuller body, and a more bold presence.  The nicotine strength feels to be about the strong level, and the flavor lasts about 50-55 minutes on average.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this one, and it was so nice to be able to review a new snus product.  It seems like with the nicotine pouch craze, we don't get too many of these anymore!  I rated this one at 3.71 out of 5.  Everything about this snus is top notch, and premium.  And it's a tobacco product that tastes like tobacco, so you really can't beat that!  If you like tobacco-centric snus products, this is one you'll definitely want to check out!
