Lyft Lab Series 2 ("Kissed by Fire") - Review. 4 October 2020.

Today, we're talking about the second release in the Lyft/Lab series: Lyft/Lab Edt. 2: "Kissed by Fire".  This series was created in collaboration with chefs Albin Wessman and Adam Dahlberg of Misshumashu, a Japanese/Swedish fusion restaurant in Sweden.  This release is said to be "inspired by traditional Asian spices and modern culinary thinking...these warm and spicy aromas create an explosion of flavor".  This release comes in two strengths, strong and regular.  I, of course, opted for the regular strength version as that is what I use myself.  These are nicotine pouches, which as usual do not contain any tobacco.  These are products that contain eucalyptus and pine fiber, as well as nicotine.

This release also comes in a limited edition packaging as well.  It's a steel container, but it separates into three compartments.
Each compartment has a can in it.  They can also go back together, kind of like legos.  Each can, like regular Lyft, weighs 16.8g and has 24 portions for 0.7g portions.  The nicotine content is listed on the bottom of the can as 6mg, which I'm assuming is per portion.

Flavor Description:  "Widely known in Asia and loved in cuisines worldwide, this stellar flavour presents the sweet and salty character of anise with subtle herbal notes."
Lyft Lab EDT 02_01 (Anise Flavor)
Review

When you open the can, a rich, slightly sweet aroma of anise greets you.  If you're not familiar with anise, it's a lot like good black licorice.  The portions are slim, soft to the touch, and comfortable under the lip.  In the flavor profile, the anise is present, rich, and with a light amount of sweetness.  There's also a little saltiness to it, as well.  The nicotine strength feels to be about the regular strength level, and the flavor lasts about 45 minutes, on average.

Lyft Lab EDT 02_02 (Ginger Flavor)
Product Details

Flavor Description:  "Long praised in Asia for its intensity, ginger is the warm heartbeat of this this spicy sweet flavour, leaving an intriguing earthy aftertaste.
Lyft Lab EDT 02_02 (Ginger Flavor)
Review

This one has a present ginger smell to it with a light, spicy, tart bite to it.  The portions are comfortable in the lip with a soft portion material, much like the last one.  The flavor is quite interesting.  Ginger is front and center, and it comes through with a spiciness and warmth to it.  It's also not overly sweet, which is good.  The nicotine feels to be about the regular strength level, and the flavor lasts about 45 minutes on average.

Lyft Lab EDT 02_03 (Eucalyptus/Citrus Flavor)

Review

When you open the can, a eucalyptus tone comes through, but it's not overly mentholated, which is nice.  There's also a mild lemony presence to it, and a sweet, but tart nature.  The portions are slim, comfortable in the lip, and soft.  The flavor is a light lemon taste, with gentle tones of eucalyptus.  It's mildly earthy, with a faint sweetness.  It's hard to describe, but is an interesting taste.  The nicotine strength feels to be about regular, and the flavor lasts about 45 minutes on average.

Ratings

Usually, I go into detail on my ratings, but since there's 3 products I'm just going to put them up in this photo and talk about my average score for each one.  For the Anise and Ginger ones, I put them at a 3/5.  For the Eucalytpus/Citrus one, I put it at 2.83/5.  They were all very interesting, to say the least.  These aren't products I would personally use again if they came out full time.  They're not bad, by any means, just not for me.  I'm actually excited to see nicotine pouch producers getting experimental with flavors that aren't mint.  But the flavors weren't really ones I would be into myself.  However, if any of these flavors sound interesting to you, you can grab them from the Lyft website in Sweden.  To my knowledge, they're only available to Sweden at this time.
