Epok Wild Purple (X-Strong) - Review (Discontinued). 16 September 2020.

Not too long ago, I reviewed Epok Wild Purple and Wild Purple Strong, two white tobacco products sold in Switzerland. It looks as though a new one has broken onto the market, so today we're going to be talking about the new Epok Wild Purple (X-Strong)!  The flavor description for this new addition says, "Summer and winter not matching? We doubt it! Try our extra strong fusion between wild berries and a fresh winter breeze."  Each can weighs 16.8 grams and has 24 portions for 0.7 gram portions.  The nicotine content at X-Strong is 16mg/g (1.6%), which breaks down to 11.2mg/portion.

Now, there's a lot of terms out there for the "all white" category, such as "nicotine pouches", and "white tobacco". This can get confusing! Lyft, for example, is a nicotine pouch product, meaning it doesn't contain tobacco. Epok actually contains white tobacco. This is how they describe the production process for Epok: "Before the treatment, the carefully selected brown tobacco is prepared. In the next step tobacco is treated through a washing process in order to obtain white tobacco. This process lasts until the brown tobacco is completely cleaned into white tobacco. When the tobacco has its all white color, it’s refined with different and fresh flavors." So, while they may look similar, they are quite different.

When you open the can, the aroma is a cooling, refreshing smell that seems to be me to be a mix of blueberry and some shade of tropical fruit.  The portions are comfortable under the lip, slim, with a great fit!  Also, you'll encounter a mild cooling presence whenever you put a portion under your lip.  The flavor is a really interesting one.  It's a mix of a mild, lightly sweet blueberry with a subtle tropical fruit flavor.  It's tasty stuff! The flavor lasts quite a while, usually around 45 minutes on average.  The nicotine strength feels to be between strong and extra strong.  In terms of the Epok series, this is one of my favorite flavors.  It's got a unique flavor and is definitely one to check out!
