I've been hearing for a while that Swedish Match is preparing to revive some of their classic brands, and it looks like this rumor is coming true. In November of 2018, they will be bringing back Mörkbrunt Lös, and in April of 2019 they will be bringing back Rallarsnus. Swedish Match will be temporarily bringing back these products (I'm assuming on a limited edition basis) to see what consumers think. It is interesting to see Swedish Match doing this, as the lös market isn't as big as it used to be. I applaud then, however, as this is a great way to celebrate their history and heritage.
Rallarsnus Lös
I found an old product description from BuySnus that describes Rallarsnus by saying, "Fresh and rounded tobacco taste with an element of grounded coffee." Here's one of the old cans, pictured to the left. Rallarsnus was produced from 1976 to 2006. I can't find much more information on this one, but I'm sure Swedish Match will put some up once it goes up for sale.
Mörkbrunt Lös
Swedish Match describes Mörkbrunt Lös by saying, "Dark tobacco character with clear smoke tones as well as elements of dried fruit and leather." It has a nicotine content of 7.5mg/g (0.75%) and comes in a 42 gram can. They're going to use the original techniques and recipes, so if you tried this product in the past, this new one will taste about the same.
Mörkbrunt Snus was manufactured from 1916 to 1998. It was originally made by J.L Tiedemann's Tobacco Factory in Charlottenberg, Värmland, which was eventually taken over by the Swedish Tobacco Monopoly. Eventually, as with other brands, production was moved to Göteborg with the Charlottenberg factory ceased production around the 1940's. It originally came in two versions, mainly sold in Dalsland and Värmland. You can see what the old cans looked like, pictured on the left.
This is what the can looked like towards the end of its life. You can see that the new can looks very close to the original can. I'm excited to try this, because I never had the original, and this is a way to enjoy Swedish Snus history. Mörkbrunt Lös will be available via SnusCENTRAL.com to the US in early November. I'm sure Rallarsnus will be the same as well.

Mörkbrunt snus was amazing. One of my absolute favourits. Rallarsnus and Svenskt exportsnus was good but not as good as Mörkbrunt! I have been critical with swedish match the ladt couple of years. But this is good news!
