Due to the EU snus ban, tobacco users in the EU do not have access to Swedish Snus. However, chewing tobacco is legal. To combat the ridiculous EU snus ban, snusmakers have been releasing "chew bag" products. These are products made very similar to Swedish Snus, but labeled as "chew bags" to be sold legally in the EU. This is a good thing, because it enables consumers in the EU to have access to safer tobacco alternatives than cigarettes, which for some reason the EU has not banned. No company has pushed forward more with these chew bag products than V2 Tobacco. They have a multitude of them on the market in varying sizes and nicotine strengths.
In case you're new to chew bags, here is a V2 chew bag and a V2 snus portion, cut open to show a comparison between the two. This is how V2 describes their chew bag products: “
The tobacco leaves are heated and moistened with steam so they can be cut into smaller pieces. The tobacco for Thunder Chewing Bags are pieces cut with a length of between 5 - 50 mm and a width of 0.6-0.8 mm. The bags used are specially designed to be chewed to release flavor and nicotine. It is made from a paper with a special weave which is thicker and much stronger than the type of bag that snus is packed in.
Thunder Chewing Bags are also fundamentally different from the other chewing tobacco products on the market by being cut tobacco in small bags while others are made from spun tobacco.” Though these are called "chew bags" and V2 mentions the pouches being able to be chewed, I have never done that with these or any other chew bags. I simply put them in my upper lip and enjoy them like snus!

Thunder Frosted Chew has a powerful flavor of spearmint, menthol and a rich lasting taste. This product has a regular sized pouch.” This product comes in a 17.6 gram can with 22 portions for 0.8 gram portions. The nicotine content is 16mg/g (1.6%), which breaks down to 12.80mg/portion. When you open the can, the aroma is a gentle, lightly sweet spearmint aroma accompanied by a light tobacco presence. The pouches look and feel much like regular snus pouches. They are soft to the touch and feel quite pleasant in the lip. Since this is a mint product, there is a nice cooling sensation that comes on when you put a chew bag in your lip. The flavor is a mild, lightly sweet flavor of spearmint accompanied by a mild presence of menthol and a light tobacco flavor. I would say the difference between this and
Thunder Frosted White Portion is that I notice a little menthol in the flavor, which I don't recall picking up in Thunder Frosted White Portion. The flavor lasts a good amount of time; I've found I can enjoy these for up to an hour! The nicotine also has a nice kick to it; I'd place it between a strong and an extra strong in terms of how it feels.
If you're somewhere where you can't get snus but can get Nordic Chew, I suggest giving these a try. They're virtually identical to Thunder Frosted White Portion but legal to buy in the EU!
