Oden's Cold (White Portion) - Review. 17 May 2017.

Yesterday (and a little today), the US received a pretty big snow/ice storm.  Here, it's mostly ice, but I figured the cold weather meant I needed to review a cold snus.  Today, we're revisiting Oden's Cold White Portion, a GN Tobacco product.  Believe it or not, GN Tobacco does make regular strength products, and they also occasionally make white portion products.  So, that's what I reached for!  I grabbed this from SnusMe.com a while ago and found it in my freezer so figured it would be a good one for the cold weather.  The flavor description for this one says, "Oden’s Cold White Portion is a normal strength portion with a fresh and cooling taste of spearmint".  Each can weighs 20 grams and has 20 portions, for 1 gram each.  The nicotine content is 9mg/g (0.9%), or 9mg/portion.

This definitely was a good choice for the cold weather.  It went quite well with the brisk air, and was a fun one to revisit today!  When it comes to this snus, the aroma of this one is very much your standard Oden's Cold:  spearmint!  It's a mild, semi-sweet spearmint with a very light hint of tobacco behind it.  The pouches do need fluffing, as the tobacco seems to be concentrated to one side of the pouch.  They are pretty soft, semi-dry, and comfortable in the lip.  The flavor is a mild, semi-sweet taste of spearmint.  It has a subtle tobacco in the background.  The nicotine strength on this one feels to be about regular strength.  I find the flavor to last about an hour, sometimes a little more.

Rating and Final Thoughts

This isn't a bad one.  I rated it at 3.5/5.  Yes, GN Tobacco does make normal white portions.  And yes, they also make regular strength products.  I think I need to do more reviews of their regular strength products.  I may not be a fan of their Siberia nonsense and all that, but their regular strength products honestly aren't that bad.  There also aren't a lot of regular strength snus products with a spearmint flavor, and I'm more of a spearmint fan than a peppermint one.  So, if you're looking for a new mint product to try, and you dig spearmint, you may enjoy this one!
