website says, "PURE NORDIC - the highly esteemed producer of snus has its headquarters in Aalborg. Alborg has been the leading tobacco city in Denmark for many generations. We are passionate about snus." In the past, I was told Pure Nordic products were made by V2 and sold by the Pure Nordic company under their own names. This isn't unheard of, V2 does this as well with the Royal Snus line. The product description on SnusLageret.no says, "Pure Nordic Icemint Extra Strong Portion has a high nicotine content a good and strong mint taste. What makes this special is that it contains much less water. This results in a much lower tobacco tax, giving a lower price to customer. Want a moister snuff add water and let the box stand in the refrigerator overnight."
Offroad Icemint. I don't think I ever reviewed it, but I remember not being a fan of it. So that made me a little nervous going into this product.
The first thing I noticed was that the portions were more tan than brown. They were also quite flat in the can. The aroma that comes through is a mild peppermint smell with a slight hint of menthol to it. There's a nice cooling sensation when you put the portion under your lip. The taste, however, is where this snus disappoints. There's this odd, musty quality to it. It's hard to describe, but it's off-putting. There is a mild flavor of peppermint, a little bit of menthol and a touch of salt. But for some reason these flavors come through in an odd way. It's almost as if the snus tastes old or expired. But, I checked the date and it isn't near expired. So I'm not sure what's up with this flavor, but I couldn't get into it. There are many other good snus products out there, so I'd suggest giving this one a pass.
