For years people have been asking for a strong version of the popular Göteborgs Rapé. Göteborgs Rapé is a product that has been in my full time rotation since 2012, and one I really enjoy. So I was quite excited to see this new release and new design! The Swedish Match

Stark is Swedish for strong, and Göteborgs Rapé White Stark is exactly what it is called – a strong variation of the classic Göteborgs Rapé White. Göteborgs Rapé is known for its mellow tobacco taste with notes of juniper and citrus. This edition is limited, and the can is specially designed in the characteristic Göteborgs Rapé colours, based upon a hand-drawn original by Swedish tattoo studio Salong Betong. Göteborgs Rapé Stark will be available during a limited period in Swedish Match Stores, at 7-Eleven, Pressbyrån and selected Ecommerce vendors."
I was pleased to see that the aroma and flavor of Göteborgs Rapé White Portion has been preserved in this one, along with the star formation that Swedish Match uses with their premium white portion products. GR is flavored with juniper, best known for flavoring gin. If you've ever had gin, you probably already know what that tastes like. If you haven't had gin, juniper berries have a slightly bitter fruit taste, an almost bittersweet flavor profile. When you open the can, the aroma that comes through is a very present juniper smell with a little bit of lemon and a light herbal/floral quality. When it comes to the taste, juniper is the most present part of the flavor. There's a light citrusy taste and herbal/floral notes in the background. There's a very light touch of pepper in the background, as well. When it comes to juniper, the "fruity" taste that is detected is bitter/sour, which is one thing I really enjoy about this snus! This is a stark snus, which means it's going to be stronger than a regular strength snus. While it is true that I notice a little extra nicotine in this one, it's not overly strong. If you're not someone who uses much strong/extra strong snus, you'll probably notice it, too. But if you use a lot of strong/extra strong snus, you may not feel too much kick from this one.
This is a really neat release and I'm glad to see Swedish Match experimenting with their flagship brands. I hope to see more of this in the future. This is a limited edition, so if you want to try it, make sure and get some soon! If you're in the US and want to try it,
