Oden's Cold (Extreme White Dry) Slim - Review. 21 April 2016.

It's been 6 years since I've had this one.  But, if you know me, when it gets icy or snowy here and the weather gets....cold.....I break out a "cold" snus.  Which, usually, means a product in the Oden's brand in the Cold series.  Today we're going to be diving into their Oden's Cold Slim White Dry. The flavor description for this one says, "Powerful but well rounded and flavorful tobacco blend with clear and cooling flavors of real mint oil". Each can weighs in at 13 grams, and has 21 portions, for 0.62 grams each. The nicotine content is 22mg/g (2.2%), or 13.62mg/portion.

When you open the can, you’ll notice a fresh, lightly sweet aroma of spearmint.  There’s also a very subtle presence of tobacco in the background.  The pouches are the slim white dry type.  They are pretty soft, albeit slightly dry.  They’re comfortable under the lip, and have a nice cooling, fresh sensation when you put one in.  The flavor, much like the aroma, is spearmint.  It’s a lightly sweet spearmint, and milder in nature due to the white dry format.  The longer you have it in the more you’ll notice a subtle tobacco in the background.  In terms of nicotine, thanks to the lighter weight portion, it feels to be about the strong level.  It’s not too much, and doesn’t feel as strong as others at the Ultra Strong nicotine level.  The flavor, thanks to the white dry format, lasts up to 1 to 1.5 hours.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I rated this one at 3.21/5.  While I don't use a lot of Oden's products, this one isn't bad.  The nicotine strength is intimidating at first (22mg/g), but thankfully the lighter portions drop it down to a more humane amount (13.62mg/portion).  I'm also more of a spearmint person than a peppermint person, so I tend to gravitate more often to flavors like these.  If you like spearmint, it's not bad!  I'd suggest checking it out if this sort of thing is your cup of tea.
