G.3 General Original Portion (Strong) - Review. 20 April 2015.

Today, we're going to talk about G3 Slim Strong Original Portion.  This snus is a personal favorite of mine.  This snus originally launched back in 2015 as General G.3 "Normal Strength", which was interesting, because it wasn't normal strength.  Later on, it got a new design, and was rebranded as General G.3 Slim Strong.  This snus is one that I've used regularly since it came out, and has always had a place in my rotation.  It is definitely my favorite in the G.3 brand.  The flavor description for this one says, "Spicy tobacco character with hints of bergamot, as well as a hint of tea, hay and leather".  Each can weighs 21.6 and has 24 portions, for 0.9g portions.  The nicotine strength is 15mg/g (1.5%), or 13.5mg/portion.

If you want a slim portion that has the full presence of General Snus, this is the one that comes the closest.  In the aroma, you pick up present tones of citrus from the bergamot, along with an earthy tobacco character and hints of pepper.  The portions are slim, moist, and have a great fit under the lip.  In terms of flavor, it's the traditional taste of General Snus, but in a slim portion!  In the flavor, you pick up bergamot in the front, along with an earth tobacco base in the background, tones of grass, and hints of pepper.  When it comes to the nicotine strength, yes, it does feel to be at the strong level, but it's not too overbearingly strong.  The flavor, on average, lasts about 45-50 minutes.

Rating and Final Thought

If you want a slim portion General, this is your best option.  I rated it at 4.25/5, but honestly if it had a better looking can design and a normal nicotine strength, this would be pretty darn close to 5/5.  It's a great tasting snus, and one that I've kept in my personal rotation for quite a while now.  If you like traditional flavored snus, this one is a must try, and is truly one of the best on the market!

    It's nice there is a difference you can taste between the XRANGE and the G.3. How would you compare the flavor of the G.3 to General Classic Original portion?

      I find the G3 to be less bold in the citrus and pepper department than in General Original. This one is much more mellow in the taste department.
