General G3 Licorice Mint White (Normal Strength) - Review. 20 April 2015.

I want to give a special thank you to a friend of ours in Norway who sent us these new G3 products - he knew I had been looking forward to trying these and sent me a few cans of each - so to him I say, "Thank you!"

This is the only new G3 product that I won't be comparing to an XRANGE product - this one is brand new. The product description says, "A new generation - General G.3 Slim White Extra Strong, an extra strong real General snus in slim white portion format with a softer surface. Provides a long lasting flavor release and comfortable fit. Fresh flavor of licorice and mint."

When you open a can of G3 Licorice Mint White an aroma comes through of licorice, mild tobacco and a hint of menthol. It's a very unique smell. I wouldn't call it odd, or bad by any means, it's just something I've never smelled in a snus before.  When you put a portion in, there is a cooling sensation that comes on, possibly due to the presence of eucalyptus or menthol, I'm not sure which.  The flavor of licorice is pretty present, it's not sweet and more on the natural side of the spectrum.  I don't taste much mint or sweetness in this snus, it seems like it's more eucalyptus or menthol - though as I said earlier I'm not sure which is in the recipe, or if it's both.  It's a very strange taste and one I don't particularly enjoy.  There are very few Swedish Match snuses that I'm not a fan of but I'm unfortunately going to have to add this one to the list.  My favorite licorice snus is General Licorice Classic Portion, so when I want a licorice snus, I'd probably stick with that one. This one has an interesting flavor, but it's just not for me.  If you're a fan of licorice, it probably wouldn't hurt to grab a can to try out just to see what this snus is all about - I'm sure there's a market for it, it's just not for me.
