The entire Skruf line recently went through a redesign, so you know what that means - new reviews! This is a snus that I forgot about, because I haven't had it since the last time I reviewed it. It's a pretty tasty snus, just not one I use very often. The
flavor description for this one says, "
Skruf Xtra Stark Portion has a pure and strong tobacco taste, containing natural condiments of bergamot and rose oil. In this product we used specially selected tobaccos to give a rich taste and higher impact." The can weighs 21.6g and has 24 portions, for 0.9g portions. The nicotine content is listed as a 4/4, which puts it at the extra strong level.
When you open the can, there is a mild, dark tobacco character. The citrus aroma is right behind it, and then a light floral sweetness. The portions are plump, soft, and comfortable in the lip. They're a little dryer than the average white portion, but still comfortable in the lip. The gentle tobacco taste is apparent in the flavor, and it's a mild, but dark taste. The citrus comes through as a nice compliment to it, and is accompanied by the rose oil, which adds a lightly sweet floral hint to the flavor profile. The nicotine level feels to be between a strong and an extra strong, and I find the flavor to last up to an hour on average! If you like the flavor of Skruf but want a little more nicotine, this would be one to check out!
