Nicokick.com and copped the whole range to review! This line has been in the works for many years now. The PMTA was filed in 2021, and now it's finally out there. I'm not a big menthol user myself, but every now and then when I catch a cold, these are the types of flavors I gravitate towards. The flavor description for this one says "
A burst of icy refreshment with an exhilarating minty finish". I have these today in the
9mg/pouch strength. They also come in 11mg/pouch, but I'm good with the 9. Now, let's see what makes Zyn Ultra different from the old dry Zyn!
Zyn Ultra Size Comparison
Zyn Ultra is comes in a moist, slim pouch. These are bigger than the old Zyn Dry. The new Zyn Ultra weighs 0.8g. The old Zyn Mini Dry weighs 0.4g. These are also moist, and have a much softer pouch. It's also much more plump! A side piece of information, these are bigger than Velo Plus, as well. Those weigh 0.53g each. These are now some of the biggest pouches on the market in the US! And, interestingly, they're bigger than Swedish Zyn, which
now sits at 0.6g. Personally, I didn't use the old Zyn Mini Dry. The pouches were too dry and didn't have much flavor to me. These are much,
much better. Also, the pouch amount has increased, instead of 15 you now get 20 pouches per can. Now, let's do a review!
Opening the can, it smells just like a Hall's menthol cough drop. It has a slightly sweet, bold aroma of menthol. The pouches are top notch. They're incredibly soft, and feel great in the lip. I love how plump they are. As a snus guy, these don't feel lacking in any way. I get a light cooling presence when I put one under my lip, as well. In the flavor profile, it has a straight up, present taste of menthol. It's lightly sweet, and not overly medicinal. The nicotine release is also quite nice. It has a steady, smooth release at the regular strength level. It doesn't feel like 6mg Zyn, which has a fast nicotine dump. This one does it in a more steady, enjoyable way. I find the flavor lasts about 40-45 minutes, on average!
Rating and Final Thoughts
I rated this one at 3.5/5. I will note the flavor only rated at 2/5 for me. The score was high mainly because of the product quality. This flavor isn't something I would personally use, outside of when I have a head cold and want a menthol flavor. But, if you're into this type of taste, this is a great product. I definitely recommend it!
