Joey Nicotine Pouches - Review #2. 25 April 2026.

About a month ago, I reviewed a bunch of Joey Nicotine Pouches.  In that review, I checked out 9 of their flavors.  Today, I have 15 more flavors to check out!  For a US brand, they have quite a wide array of tastes!  One thing I mentioned in the last review, if you haven't tried them, they have a store locator you can use.  But before we get into the review, let's get into the nitty gritty about what's actually inside the pouch!

What's inside a Joey Pouch?

As you can tell, these look different from most nicotie pouches.  They contain "flavorbeads", as Joey calls them.  They're similar to Swedish Match's Volt Pearls I tried years ago.  The flavorbeads are made of microcrystalline cellulose, pectin, and sodium alginate.  The folks at Joey say this gives the product an "unmatched level of satisfaction, a quick nicotine release, and a longer-lasting experience of flavor".  In the lip, they have an interesting feel.  You can't fluff them much.  The can weighs 8g and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.4g each.  They're also slightly dry.  But, they do have a nice flavor release to them!  In the strenght, these come in 3, 6, and 9mg.  I've tried them all, and I find the 3mg to be a bit weak, the 6mg to be rather moderate, and the 9mg to be about perfect.  The 9mg one has a nice delivery of nicotine and feels to be around the regular strength level!  Now, let's see how all these taste!

Joey Vanilla Latte

Flavor Description:  "Coffee with creamy vanilla and a warm finish".

My Thoughts:  In the aroma, I pick up a rich, dark coffee aroma with some smooth, sweet notes of vanilla.  In the flavor profile, it's a pretty nice coffee flavor.  It's rich, but not too dark.  It's sweet, but not overly sweet.  And the vanilla tones add a nice smooth essence to it.

Joey Strawberry

Flavor Description:  "Ripe strawberry with a natural finish".

My Thoughts:  With this one, I'm getting a sweet, present, fruity aroma of strawberry.  In the flavor, pretty much the same thing.  It's a nice taste of strawberry.  It's semi-sweet, and pretty tasty!

Joey Salted Melon

Flavor Description:  "Melon with a light hit of salt".

My Thoughts:  Opening the can, the aroma on this one is pretty mild compared to the others.  The melon character is very faint.  In the flavor, though, I pick up more.  There is a gentle, semi-sweet melon flavor.  It's not super salty by any means, but there is a light salty character.

Joey Red Fruit

Flavor Description:  "Red berry flavor with a soft finish".

My Thoughts:  One thing I want to say about this one - I like that there are different color flavorbeads in the pouch.  I honestly think they should do that with all their flavors.  In the aroma, I pick up a sweet, fruity aroma.  It's almost like a mix of apple, cherry, and pear.  Flavor-wise, it's not bad!  It's fruity, it's sweet, and pretty tasty.  But yeah, I think apple/cherry/pear.

Joey Wild Raspberry

Flavor Description:  "Sharp raspberry flavor with a bright, smooth finish".

My Thoughts:  This one smells really good.  I love raspberry, so I was glad to see when I opened the can that the raspberry character isn't hidden.  It's present in the aroma, and in the flavor!  It's slightly sweet, and has a nice body and presence to it!

Joey Lychee

Flavor Description:  "Subtle tropical flavor with a smooth finish".

My Thoughts:  In the aroma, this one has a nice, sweet, fruity, tart, tangy presence of lychee.  The flavor is pretty solid.  I like the tart essence.  It's slightly tropical.  It has a little sweetness to it.  All in all, it's a pretty well rounded flavor experience.

Joey Wild Huckleberry

Flavor Description:  "Berry flavor with a slight earthy edge".

My Thoughts:  Opening the can, this one has an intriguing aroma.  It seems like grape, but perhaps with a little blueberry.  It's sweet, but has a very faint tart edge.  The flavor is pretty tasty!  Like the aroma, the closest thing I can compare ti to is a mix of grape and blueberry.  It's intriguing stuff!

Joey Honeydew

Flavor Description:  "Melon flavor that’s mellow & smooth".

My Thoughts:  Honeydew is my favorite melon, and one of my favorite fruits, so I was quite eager to check this one out.  Opening the can, I pick up a mild aroma of honeydew.  It's slightly earthy in nature.  In the flavor, the honeydew taste is quite clear.  It's refreshing, lightly sweet, and very enjoyable!

Joey Green Mint

Flavor Description:  "Herbal mint with a crisp edge".

My Thoughts:  Opening the can, this one seems to be a mix of mint and wintergreen.  It's almost like a wintergreen Tic Tac.  In the taste, pretty much the same thing.  I wasn't sure what flavor to expect, but I dig it.  I like the wintergreen Tic Tacs a lot, and usually carry some with me in my go-bag.  So finding that flavor here was pretty pleasing.

Joey Crisp Pear

Flavor Description:  "Subtle pear flavor with a light, balanced finish".

My Thoughts:  Pear isn't a super common flavor in pouches, so I was curious to see how this one would come across.  Opening the can - big, bold aroma of pear!  The flavor is also no slouch!  I pick up a whole lot of pear taste with this one.  It's really good.

Joey Cool Mint

Flavor Description:  "Chilled mint flavor with a crisp, fresh finish".

My Thoughts:  Opening up the can, I get a fresh, sharp aroma of peppermint.  Under the lip, the peppermint flavor is pretty enjoyable.  It's icy, lightly sweet, and has a nice minty character to it.

Joey Hot Cinnamon

Flavor Description:  "Crisp cinnamon with a warm, spicy kick".

My Thoughts:  This one has quite an aroma to it!  When I open the can, I'm picking up quite the aroma of cinnamon.  It's spicy, and slightly sweet.  In the flavor, it's pretty enjoyable.  It reminds me of Big Red gum, one of my favorite chewing gums.  It's sweet, it's spicy, it's present.  It's very enjoyable!

Joey Unflavored Pouches

"Naked" Flavor Description:  "No flavor—just a smooth, straightforward hit".
"Clear" Flavor Description:  "Neutral, no flavor—all impact and straightforward".
"Smooth" Flavor Description:  "Flavor-free with a softer mouthfeel and refined finish".

My Thoughts:  I figured I'd review these three together, because they sounded to me, on paper, to be basically the same thing.  The aromas are all pretty similar, just unscented pouch material.  Naked seems to be slightly sweet, Clear is pretty neutral, and Smooth seems to be maybe slightly earthy.  In the flavor profile, with Clear I don't taste much, it's very neutral and basic.  With Naked, I do note a little sweetness in the flavor, much like I did in the aroma.  Smooth has a very basic, simple taste to it as well.  But honestly, all 3 are very close in taste.

Rating and Final Thoughts

I have a LOT of ratings, which you can see below.  I didn't rate Clear, Naked, or Smooth.  It's hard to average out products that have no added flavor.  The rest of my scores go from 3.17 to 3.33/5.  But all in all, not bad products.  My last reviews on these were in that range as well.  If you missed my last review, you can find it here!  But, all in all, pretty neat stuff.  I like the variety of flavors in this range, so if you want to try something new and different in the US, you may dig Joey!
