Vårgårda Rustik (White Portion) Snus - Review. 14 October 2025.

In 2024, Nordic Snus, makers of LD, launched Vårgårda Rustik.  It was a hard one to track down, but in early 2025 I got ahold of some to review, and fell in love.  Unfortunately, at the time I was told they had no more planned to come.  However, it appears they changed course, because in September 2025, it came back full time to the Vårgårda line!  This is the first raw, unflavored snus to come to the market since my Artisan Signature Blend White Portion.  I used that one a lot, until it sadly was discontinued.  But this one fills that hole in my heart that Artisan Signature left.  When this one launched, I was told had no added flavor.  Isn't that beautiful?  I was also told it had a mix of Oriental and Turkish tobacco.  It was said to be a mix of sun and air cured tobaccos, blended with water from the Säveån River in Sweden.  For this current release, the flavor description says "A clear and distinct tobacco flavor".  Each can weighs 19.8g and has 22 portions, weighing 0.9g each.  The nicotine content is 8mg/g, or 7.2mg/portion.  Now, let me open a can and talk about how it tastes!

Opening the can, the aroma is very raw, natural, and beautiful.  The tobacco tone is earthy, and slightly grassy.  It almost has a subtle spice to it.  The portions are nice and plump, and very soft.  The tobacco in the portion itself has a great moisture amount that you can see coming through the portion.  The flavor of this one is divine.  There's a reason this one won Best Limited Edition and Best Tobacco Flavor in the 2024 Snus Awards.  The tobacco flavor is very, as the can says, rustic.  It's almost dark in nature, with a beautiful earthy tone and subtle notes of hay.  I detect a slight spice to it, but relatively mild, and in the background.  It's a very well rounded flavor.  In the strength department, this one has a comfortable, smooth delivery right at the regular strength level.  The flavor lasts up to about an hour, on average!

Rating and Final Thoughts

This stuff is great.  It's just as great as I remember.  I gave it a 4.5/5.  I can only imagine what this would taste like in an original portion or a lössnus.  It would be divine.  So, if you're in the US, I asked both Snusport.com and SwedishProducts.online to stock it, and they did!  So, you're able to get it from the last two stores that ship to us.  I suggest getting extra, that's how good it is.
