Grizzly Snuff (American Dip) - Review. 20 May 2025.

And now, for something completely different!  Lately, it feels like I've been reviewing nothing but nicotine pouches.  It doesn't seem like new snus products get made anymore, and the few that do we don't have access to online anymore.  So, as a tobacco lover, I figured I'd branch back out into American dip again!  A few years ago I reviewed a bunch of Grizzly products, and today, we have Grizzly Snuff to check out!  The flavor description for this one says "Dark-Fired tobacco with that premium taste you expect. Expertly grown, specially selected, blended, aged, cured and finally cut to perfection".  Each can weighs 34.02g of tobacco.  The can notes it has 90% American tobacco and 10% imported tobacco.  On the Grizzly website it says that the 10% is actually Brazilian tobacco.  The nicotine content for Grizzly is usually between 10-11mg/g.

Opening the can, a beautiful aroma greets you.  I pick up a rich, dark tobacco aroma.  Behind it, notes of hickory, as well as a present smokiness.  This one reminds me a lot of Grizzly Natural Extra Long Cut, one of my favorites of theirs.  If you haven't had a "snuff" before, I'll explain.  You may be thinking of nasal snuff, but this is different.  This cut is different from your standard long cut.  It is finer, and has smaller tobacco strands.  I put it in the upper lip like with snus, but you may notice more floaters with this than with their long cut or extra long cut.  In the flavor, it has a beautiful, earthy tobacco taste.  It's rich, dark, and smoky.  I also pick up wood notes of oak, and a little hickory.  In the nicotine strength, this one feels to be about the regular strength level, with a decent release to it.  The flavor, on average, lasts between 30-40 minutes.

Rating and Final Thoughts

After months of reviewing nicotine pouches, it's nice to taste some tobacco again.  While I enjoy their extra long cut format better, I found this one to have a similar taste, which is enjoyable.  The cut isn't the easiest to work with, but I managed.  Honestly, it's just nice to have a tobacco product under my lip again.  I rated this one at 3.96/5.  A tasty product, and a nice break from tobacco-free products!
