It's been about 5 years since I've had
Oden's Cold Original Portion. Recently, the FDA has "red listed" the Oden's Snus brand, so it's becoming harder to find. However,
MrSnuff.com sells the Oden's "Chew Bags", which are what they sell in the EU where you can't get snus. If you haven't had chew bags, these are basically the same thing as snus. They have cut tobacco in them instead of ground, and a thicker portion material so you can chew them if you want (though I don't do that). This makes them legal where snus is blocked from sale. When it comes to this one, the flavor description says "Well rounded and flavorful chewing tobacco blend with clear and cooling flavors of real mint oils". Each can weighs 18 grams and has 18 chew bags, weighing 1 gram each. The nicotine content is 9mg/g, which breaks down to 9mg/portion.
Opening the can, the aroma is very much the familiar Oden's Cold smell. It's a lightly sweet spearmint aroma. It's present, but smooth. The chew bags are nice and plump, with a good moisture amount. They give a little burn under the upper lip, and then a gentle cooling presence. Yes, you can chew these, but I don't. I use them just like snus under my upper lip. The flavor is your regular, standard Oden's Cold. This is a spearmint product, so you'll pick up a smooth, gentle taste of spearmint. It's lightly sweet in nature. I pick up a little tobacco in the background, but not too much. as far as the nicotine strength goes, this one feels about regular, and has a steady delivery of nicotine. The flavor lasts about 40-45 minutes, on average.
Rating and Final Thoughts
If you've had regular Oden's Cold Original Portion snus, this is basically the same thing. Same flavor, same nicotine hit, same experience. I rated this one at 3.67/5. If you can't get snus anymore but can get these chew bags, they work just the same. They're available at

I tried to ask the site itself, but no answer. Maybe you can explain how the checkout with mrsnuff works.. you check out in pounds at the current exchange rate, per the site. Does that mean you get charged the equivalent amount in dollars once you actually submit the order? For example, if the amount is twenty pounds, you are actually getting charged whatever the equivalent in dollars? Or is there an option im not seeing on the site. Just trying to figure out how that works. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I miss odens...

DeleteHey I just ordered a bunch of this and so happy to see the review. I LOVE this brand and flavor. I know it gets a lot of hate lol. Damn the FDA but so glad we have the “chew bag” bag option. To the other user, when I was looking on the site it showed USD, so maybe there is a setting on the site to show USD instead of pounds. I had no problem checking out I think my bank wanted to confirm it was me and that was all.
