Rush is a line of nicotine pouches made by Dholakia Tobacco (DTPL) in India. I've had it in several iterations over the years. Back in 2021, I had it when it was initially launched as a US market focused brand; these pouches are still sold in the US it seems. I had it again in early 2024, when it was launched as a more broad/EU-centric type of nicotine pouch brand. Now, it's back again, looking to be a more "global" type of nicotine pouch brand. It recently relaunched at InterTabac in Germany in Fall of 2024. Today we have the 6 "main" products, although there are others out there. Each can weighs 14 grams and has 20 pouches, weighing 0.7g each. The nicotine content on these is a 4/5, or "Pro". It's actually 16mg/g, which breaks down to just 11.2mg/pouch, or at the "strong" level.
Rush Nordic Frost
Rush Mango Freeze
Rush Ice Cool
Rush Green Mint
Rush Icy Grape
Rush Berry Ice
Before we get into the reviews, let's discuss what these have in common.
Commonalities
The Pouch - The pouches are slim, moderately moist, with a soft feel. They are comfortable under the lip, and against the gum. All of these have a cooling presence in the lip, which is something they do a lot with EU pouches for some reason.
The Nicotine Strength - The nicotine delivery feels slightly above the regular strength level, however not too overly strong.
The Flavor Longevity - These all hover between the 35-45 minute mark in flavor longevity.
Now, let's do individual reviews!
Rush Nordic Frost
Flavor Description: "A taste of fresh mint"
Review: Opening up the can, the aroma that I pick up is a gentle aroma of peppermint, along with a very light hint of menthol. It's not overly sweet, nor is it too present. Under the lip, I get a pretty gentle, balanced taste of mint with a light cooling sensation. The peppermint flavor is present, but not too bold. It is lightly sweet in nature, and has a gentle tone of menthol in the background.
Rush Mango Freeze
Flavor Description: "A taste of icy mango"
Review: This one has a mild aroma of mango, along with subtle tones of menthol. It's tropical, and mildly sweet. Under the lip, a gentle cooling sensation comes on. In the flavor profile, the mango is tropical, lightly tart, and semi-sweet. There are cooling tones of menthol behind it, as well. It's good, but I could do without the menthol.
Flavor Description: "An intense taste of mint"
Review: This one has a present, sharp aroma of peppermint. It's not super sweet, and is quite powerful and present in nature. Under the lip, you'll encounter a cooling presence. The flavor of this one is a direct, icy taste of peppermint. It's not overly sweet, and has a pretty bold flavor profile to it.
Flavor Description: "A sweet taste of spearmint"
Review: Of the three mint products, this is the more enjoyable one. The aroma is a smooth, refreshing, semi-sweet aroma of spearmint. Under the lip, as with the others, you'll encounter a gentle cooling presence. The flavor of this one is pretty good, but I prefer spearmint over peppermint. The spearmint flavor is gentle, and mild. It has a refreshing nature to it and a light sweetness.
Flavor Description: "A taste of icy grape"
Review: This one has an aroma that seems to be an even mix of menthol and grape. Under the lip, as with all of these, you'll get a light cooling presence. In the flavor profile, the grape flavor is mild, and evenly balanced with a flavor of menthol.
Flavor Description: "A cool and icy taste of berries"
Review: And lastly in the Rush series of reviews, we have arrived at Rush Berry Ice. Opening up the can, this one has an evenly balanced aroma of blueberry and menthol. The pouch has a gentle cooling sensation under the lip, which is a common mark of this entire series. In the flavor, it's a fruity berry taste, which most closely makes me think of blueberry. Along with the blueberry, you'll encounter some menthol, which adds a freshness to the flavor profile. It seems to be pretty well balanced.
Rating and Final Thoughts
All in all, not bad. I was a bit confused by the Mango, Berry, and Grape ones having menthol including in the flavor. I think they would have been better without it, but for some reason most nicotine pouches these days seem to have it added. Not sure why. As far as ratings go, Green Mint (Spearmint) came out on top at 3.33/5. Next, Mango Freeze at 3.25/5. Then, Ice Cool, Berry Ice, Nordic Frost, and Icy Grape tied at 3.17/5. For the product line itself and product quality, they are pretty solid!
