A new year has begun, and this is my first new snus review of the year. It's sad to say we don't see much new snus anymore. Last year, there were only 20ish new snus products introduced. I remember when I first started writing about snus in 2009, there were
way more new snus products introduced each year. But sadly, in the era of nicotine pouches and their input into the demise of the snus market, we just don't get many new ones. So, whenever they do come around, we have to celebrate it! This is a stronger variant of
LD Signum Bergamot, a Nordic Snus product that launched in the end of 2023. I have to say, I've been using this one a lot lately! The flavor description for this one says "
a taste of bergamot and citrus". Each can weighs 18 grams and has 20 pouches, for 0.9 grams each. The nicotine content is 14mg/g, which breaks down to 12.6mg/portion.
I enjoy LD snus, but I find the Signum Bergamott release to be more balanced. In the aroma, I pick up a pleasant balance of bergamot and a mild tobacco base. The portions are soft, and nice and plump. They fluff up really well and feel quite comfortable under the lip! Flavor-wise, this one captures the traditional flavor profile quite well. It's very well balanced. The tobacco base is gentle, and mild. The flavor of bergamot sits on it very well, but doesn't come through in a too overpowering way. The balance is quite good. In the nicotine strength, this one is a stark, and delivers just a little above the regular strength level. Not too weak, not too strong. The flavor lasts about an hour, on average.
Rating and Final Thoughts
This is a really good snus. I've been using LD a lot more lately, in preparation for the day that Swedish Match snus
isn't available online anymore. I can definitely say that this is one I'd be interested in using full time. It's a very evenly flavored snus. I gave it a 3.83/5. It's pretty good, and is one I'd definitely suggest checking out.
